We believe that music competitions stimulate passionate musicianship. For many, they’re a first glimpse of performing in public, playing in ensembles, or of breaking out of orthodox repertoire. They foster a sense of healthy self-assessment, can help conquer EMCY is a non-proŒ t organisation which is nerves, and motivate practise. We believe young people based and registered in Munich (Germany) can be inspired by experiencing fresh interpretations and run by an international board and o– ce and discovering new works, and make new friends from other cultures in the process.

EMCY promotes the prize winners of its member com- Member of Associate Member of petitions, arranging tours and concerts for them, and sending them to master classes to further their talents. Projects we oversee include the EuroRadio Youth Concert: a high-proŒ le concert in a diŽ erent European city every year, in which some of our most promising prize winners are accompanied by orchestra and aired across the continent by the European Broadcasting Union.
