– Request from DSS to roll over funds to the next fiscal year was not approved, no rollover this year.

– Navigator funds and training funds should align with the goals of the program.

California Child Care Resource & Referral Network Guidance in May 4 ACWDL

– Provides a little flexibility to the 12-month limit. Counties have the flexibility to count months of non-use or not. If a Bridge Program voucher is scheduled to expire (either at the 6- or 12-month limit) during this emergency period, counties have the discretion to extend voucher services for an additional 60 days. This flexibility is in place until June 30, 2020, or when the State of Emergency has officially ended, whichever is earlier. When the family secures a long-term child care placement, the Bridge Program voucher shall be terminated.

California is issuing one-time food credits of up to $365 per child to help qualifying families get through the coronavirus outbreak. The Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer card, or P-EBT, from the Department of Social Services is an emergency disaster benefit that can be used to buy food and groceries, including online at Walmart and Amazon.The first cards arrived last week for families receiving CalFresh, Medi-Cal or foster care benefits as a supplement to their EBT card. The second phase, which starts Friday, requires low-income families to apply at https://ca.p-ebt.org/

California Child Care Resource & Referral Network Coming Together: Standing Up To Racism - A CNN/Sesame Street Town Hall For Kids and Families

Hosted by CNN’s and Erica Hill, along with Sesame Street’s Big Bird and friends, on Saturday, June 6 at 10 a.m. ET on CNN, CNN International and CNN en Español CNN and Sesame Street join once again this Saturday for a new Town Hall to help kids and families discuss racism and the protests taking place nationwide, build empathy and embrace diversity. The hour-long special, Coming Together: Standing Up to Racism, will be hosted by CNN commentator Van Jones and CNN anchor Erica Hill, along with Sesame Street’s Big Bird, on Saturday, June 6 at 10 a.m. ET on CNN, CNN International and CNN en Español. Coming Together: Standing Up to Racism will also include Sesame Street Muppets Abby Cadabby, Elmo and his dad Louie, Gabrielle and Rosita, alongside cast members Roscoe Orman and Sonia Manzano, and Sesame Workshop Senior Vice President of U.S. Social Impact Dr. Jeanette Betancourt. The special will stream live without requiring a log-in on CNN.com’s homepage and across mobile devices via CNN’s apps for iOS and Android.
