ZANGERSHEIDE N°: Z-0211-97 BREED: Z Platina Z Platina Z combines an impressive pedigree, heritage of both her sire and dam´s lines, having the Euro Stallion Almé twice in her bloodlines. Platina is a courageous, bold, intelligent mare with a powerful thrust from her hindquarters, the heart and attitude of a top athlete, a lovely naturally suspended trot and a winner´s mind and attitude. Platina Z loved the challenges of jumping competitions and did well both in jumping and Dressage circuits as a 4 & 5 young horse. All these champion traits plus her superb bloodlines make Platina Z a precious jewel as broodmare. Platina Z is a gifted mare double registered Ibrahim/ Almé Z., Mares double or triple registered Ibrahim /Almé crossed to sires carrying the Ramiro Z bloodlines were key to the overwhelming success of the Zangersheide breeding program- Moreover, a close look at WEG and Olympic results shows how during the last decade the Ibrahim / Almé legacy has contributed to create sensational athletes leading the international rankings. Platina Z has this fabulous Ibrahim/ Almé bloodlines both in her sire´s and dam´s lineage. Platina Z combines the best of her top and bottom lines: the courage, determination and strength from her dam´s side (Quick Star and Galoubet) and the type and temperament of the Ibrahim/Almé horses- PLATINA Z´S LINEAGE: SIRE SIDE: PRADIKAT (PLATON (PLUTOS X DOLCE VITA) X ALTHEA Z (ALMÉ Z X FIAT Z) Pradikat´s sire Platon, descends from a state premium Westfalen mare, Dolce Vita, and a Westfalen sire, Pluto’s. The dam´s side descends from the famous “Euro Stallion” Almé, sired by two outstanding horses: Ibrahim and Girondine. ALMÉ Ibrahim is out of Vailante and by The Last Orange- VAILANTE ORANGE PEEL The Last Orange carried the blood of Eclipse xx, Matchem xx and Herod xx. His sire, Orange Peel (born 1919) is considered the founder of the modern Normandy horse. Ibrahim was champion of his age group in 1956 and was acquired by the State stud St-Lô. Ibrahim distinguished himself by his remarkable conformation -which he passed on to his progeny, especially to his daughters. The breeding of Ibrahim to mares sired by Ultimate like Girondine gave miraculous results: Almé is the best example of such cross. IBRAHIM ULTIMATE Almé's legacy is already been assured by the extraordinary quality of his sons and grandson. His 5 to 6 new generation gave horses like Dollar Du Mûrier (the best stallion at the World Show Jumping Championships in 2002), Baloubet de Rouet (three-time World Cup Champion and Olympic Gold in 2004). Today Almé is the only stallion in the World to have fathered 2 World Champions and 3 Olympic horses. PLATINA Z´S DAM´S LINEAGE: DAM: QUICKY Z (QUICK STAR (GALOUBET A X STELLA) X GENOVA (GEPARD X WOLABUCH)) Patina’s dam´s side grandsire is the world famous QUICK STAR. This fabulous jumping stallion is amongst the most relevant sires of the 90’s. Under his rider Meredith Michaels, QUICK STAR accumulated an impressive track record in International Show Jumping Championships. Quick Star Z http://www.webstallions.com/etalon?nom=quick-star&id=429 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQO3HH4Ogus&feature=related Quick Star was bred to perform. His dam, Stella, jumped successfully internationally with Nelson Pessoa. Quick Star’s sire, Galoubet A was also an international performer too, winning an astonishing 19 Grand Prix in his career. Galoubet is by one of the all-time jumping sires, Almé, and out of the French trotter, Viti. Quick Star inherited the best of both his sire and dam´s lines: the force, energy and courage from Galoubet and the elegance, intelligence and technique from Stella. Stella won 32 Grand Prix and was French Champion as a 3, 4, and 5-year-old. Stella produced two other approved stallions: Olisco (International show jumper} and Phalor. GALOUBET A VITI In the show jumper horse breeding, QUICK STAR is considered to be one of the best progenitors, being recognized by 21 stud books worldwide. He is not only world famous for his own achievements but for producing some of the current international winners that shine in show jumping circuits all over the world, notably: SPHRELLA STELLA, the CSIO internationally winning mare; QUILOT Z, QUIKSY, QUICK LAURO Z, Quinticus, Quebec and Cardinus in Germany, Quincy Z (ex-Omnistar), Quilot Z and Quick Lauro Z in Belgium; Quick Star CH in Switzerland, Qualitative in Denmark, Quality Touch Z in Chile, and Indy Star in France. The list of Quick Star internationally successful horses goes on including Qualandro, Quick Silver BZ, Quick Roxette DH, Quick Lauro Z and Quilfilio. Quick Star has also produced dressage and eventing sporthorses. Quick Star`s first offspring were born in the United States in 1988. Among his US-crop is Sprehe Stella (International CSIO winner). In Europe, he has produced Nissan Quilot Z (6th in the World Championship for 5-year-olds at Zangersheide and approved Zangersheide stallion), Nissan Quality Touch Z (approved Zangersheide stallion), Quicksy (4th in the German Young Horse Championship as a 5-year-old in Warendorf), Qrocant Z (Champion of the foal class in 1994 at Lanaken, Belgium), Quick Charming (Ankum Auction sales Top Price in 1998). Platina Z´s grandsire Galoubet A: Galoubet was by the great sire Almé out of Viti a trotter mare. The powerful Galoubet ranked third on the WBFSH standings for 2000/2001, largely due to his son Baloubet du Rouet who won three Finals in a row (Helsinki 1998, Gothenburg 1999, Las Vegas 2000) as well as team bronze at 2000 Olympics in Sydney. In 2002 Galoubet was the Grand Sire of World Champion - Liscalgot (Ire) at World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain through his son Touchdown. In 2004 his son Baloubet du Rouet won the Gold Medal at 2004 Olympics in Athens. Galoubet also sired the top sporthorses Caloubet du Rouet and his full-brother, Quatoubet, The Developer, U’Grand Jete, Galouway and the great Gatoubet du Rouet. Galoubet has been a very good sire and a sire of sires, aside from Baloubet and Quick Star; there are Qredo de Paulstra Quiniou (sire of Barbarian) and the Belgian stallion, Skippy II. Galoubet dam, the trotter mare, Viti also competed as a show-jumper. The chestnut mare was tall enough at 170 cms, had a good canter and wonderful form over a jump. Her sire was Nystag, by Abner, who was also the sire of Jasmin, twice the World Champion. Other exceptional jumpers out of trotter mares include Halla and Jappeloup. ALMÉ /IBRAHIM INFLUENCE: Platina´s both top and bottom line grandsire and grand-grandsire respectively, Almé is one of the all-time great jumping stallions. Almé stood four seasons in France producing exceptional sons - Grand d’Escla, Galoubet A, Jalisco B and I Love You - before moved to Zangersheide stud in Belgium. At Zangersheide, Almé was to found a dynasty. Stallions such as Alexis Z, Ahorn Z and Athlet Z have spread Almé’s influence throughout Europe, and into almost all the German studbooks. Ibrahim was champion of his age group in 1956 and was acquired by the State stud St-Lô. However, it was only when Ibrahim´s progeny dominated the jumping finals at Fontainebleau in 1970 that he achieved real recognition. At this show, his youngsters won in hand classes, while his four year olds - Alcazar D, Aurore C, Azimut, Arteban and Almé - dominated the jumping finals. His daughter Val de Loire B won the five year old class. Even today the influence of Ibrahim is strong. At the finals of the 2003 Cycle Classique in Fontainebleau in the 4 Year Old final, 219 youngsters started, with 112 double clears. Eight stallions sired more than one horse that went double clear Ibrahim! Girondine was a daughter of the Irish bred Thoroughbred, Ultimate, and as well as Almé, she also produced his three full-brothers, all licensed stallions or successful jumpers. Her daughter, La Citadell (by Jus de Pomme) was bred to Ibrahim to produce three top stallions: Espoir, Gibramino and Quastor- In the 2003 edition of Annuaire Monneron ( www.monneron.com) Bernard le Courtois, described Almé as the 'father of world breeding': "It is obviously no surprise to see that the line of Ibrahim is influential in French breeding. Almé's line is becoming increasingly important in many great breeding countries as could be seen during the World Championship in Jerez 2002. Among the 92 horses participating, 21 horses in the event (22.3%) were descendants of Almé and among the Top 10 (after two round of the individual championships) four stallions, one gelding and four mares, four of them from Almé (40%). The four horses in the final comprised one stallion and three mares, three of them from Almé, 75%! If we were to draw some preliminary conclusions we might suggest that if we want to produce horses of high quality the best way would be to invest in mares coming from our leader of the dynasty, Almé. One thing is sure and certain, and that is that Almé remains a valuable asset in the pedigrees of our sport horses. And everything comes together when we remember that the best 6 year old in Europe this year - Mozart des Hayettes - had Almé twice in his pedigree." Almé led a full life through breeding and sport.
