The Lenten Program Syllabus

Recommended Reading: The Last Week , Marcus Borg & Dominic Crossan, pub HarperSanFransico Harper Collins Study Bible, NRSV, pub Harper Collins, (HC)

Obviously this syllabus is beyond what we will be able to cover in our weekly Lenten studies. However, it can be a daily devotional of through out Lent. My inten - tion is to use this syllabus for then next couple of Lenten seasons and address different portions of the year to year.

The expectations for a good class with discussion is to have read the material prior to the session, and bring your notes with questions and observations, such as: I noticed the difference between Mark and Matthew, why is John silent. The more each of us prepares, the better the sessions will be. Come with and open mind and heart.

Schedule Note: We will not be formally meeting on Mar 11 as the Genevan Choir will be our guest and performing a concert that evening, nor will we be meeting Mar 18 as I will be accompanying the youth to the Monastery in Tazie’ France.

Goals: To reflect on the final days of the life of Jesus and how the Church celebrates them during Holy Week following the of Mark.
