LTU becomes the 15th member school and will begin MSFA play in 2019 along with Indiana Wesleyan University which was added in 2016. Lawrence Tech and Indiana Wesleyan become the 30th and 31st schools to hold membership in the MSFA since its inaugural season in 1993. Indiana Wesleyan, located in Marion, Ind., will compete as a varsity sport in football for the first time in 2018, while LTU is returning football to its campus after a 70-year absence. Lindenwood University-Belleville, located in Belleville, Ill., and Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Mo., began MSFA play in 2015 as part of the Mideast League, joining Concordia University of Ann Arbor, Mich.; Marian University of Indianapolis, Ind.; the University of Saint Francis of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Siena Heights University of Adrian, Mich.; and Taylor University of Upland, Ind. The Mideast League is the same in 2017. Meanwhile, Chicago-based Robert Morris University and Saint Xavier University; the Universi- ty of St. Francis of Joliet, Ill.; Olivet Nazarene University of Bourbonnais, Ill.; St. Ambrose University of Davenport, Iowa; and Trinity International University of Deerfield, Ill. will again make up the Mid- west League in 2017. Each MSFA team plays the other teams within its league plus crossover games against the other league. The champions of the two leagues receive automatic berths into the NAIA Championship Series. The MSFA has claimed eight national championships, including five of the last six … Saint Francis, Ind. (2016), Marian (2015 & 2012), Grand View University (2013) and Saint Xavier (2011). The University of Findlay (1995 & 1997) and Westminster College (1994) also won national titles as members of the MSFA.
