LB Caleb Coe (SO) One of two freshmen to be named MSFA Midwest Honorable Mention in 2015, Coe finished second on the team with 114 tackles, eight and a half for loss (36 yards), and two sacks. He was one of six Tigers to start all 11 games and the only freshman to do so. Against the Cougars in the second week of the season last year, Coe had 12 tackles, one for loss (11 yards), one sack for 11 yards and one forced and recovered fumble. In week one against Midland he had seven tackles (0.5 for loss). QB Nick Ferrer (JR) The Cougar quarterback went 19-for-37, throwing for 323 yards and two touchdowns in week one in a 34-20 win over Trinity International. Ferrer is looking to follow up a terrifc sophomore season where he was selected MSFA Mideast First Team Offense as the only quarterback on the team. Last season he threw 40 touchdowns, completing 223 passes for 3,476 yards. Last season against the Tigers he went 12-for-19, throwing for 216 yards and five scores. DE Lucas Sparks (SR) A MSFA Mideast First Team Defense selection a year ago led the Cougars in tackles for loss (13.5, 92 yards) and sacks (10, 73 yards). He finished third in the MSFA in sacks and seventh in tackles for loss. He was second on the team with 76 tackles and had six (1.5 for loss) against the Tigers on Sept. 5 a year ago. Sparks also finished with a sack for 10 yards and a pass break up.
