Als Personenkult wie bei Bob Marley la légende des Wailers (Roland Monpierre, 2006), Kurt Cobain - Godspeed (2003) und Death Rap Tupac Shakur: A Life (2005), beide von Barnaby Legg & Jim McCarthy, bei Zappaesk (Andreas Rausch, 2005), Carlos Gardel (Muñoz & Sampayo, 2008) und Cash: I see a darkness (Reinhard Kleist, 2006) oder Jim Morrison: Poet des Chaos (Frédéric Bertocchini & Jef, 2011). Der Lizard King und der Man in Black werden in schwarzer Tinte mythisch, ikonisch, poetisch. Aber hörbar? Baby's in Black – The Story of Astrid Kirchherr & Stuart Sutcliffe (Arne Bellstorf, 2010) führt auf die Reeperbahn zu den Anfängen der Beatles, Hank Williams – Lost Highway (Søren Glosimodt Mosdal, 2011) schweift in den letzten Stunden des Countrysängers, der auf dem Rücksitz eines Wagens stirbt, noch einmal überwirklich durch seine Lebens- und Gefühlswelt.
