Sydney Olympic 2 – Manly United 1 at Belmore Sports Ground Sydney Olympic have added to Manly United’s horror National Premier Leagues NSW Championship defence toppling the northern beaches side 2-1 at Belmore Sports Ground on Sunday. Goals to Jason Madonis and Alejandro Sanchez in the opening 15 minutes had Olympic in control for the majority of the match before Brendan Cholakian gave the visitors fleeting hope with a converted penalty in the closing stages of the match. The defeat was Manly’s third consecutive loss to start the season as Paul Dee’s side struggle to get back to the form which led them to the title in 2017. For Olympic it was a return to form after defeat at APIA Leichhardt Tigers seven days earlier.

Hakoah Sydney City East 2 – Sutherland Sharks 2 at Hensley Athletic Field Sutherland Sharks FC have delivered an extraordinary finish at Hensley Athletic Field to pull back two goals in added time to snatch an improbable 2-2 draw with Hakoah Sydney City East on Saturday night. Mitchell Stamatellis broke the deadlock with 15 minutes remaining before Anthony Frangie doubled Hakoah’s lead from the spot as Sutherland saw Nicholas Littler sent from the field for a second yellow card. The game was seemingly beyond the visitors, but Jacob Tratt grabbed what appeared to be little more than a consolation goal in injury time, before Nick Olsen completed the comeback with the final kick of the game.

12 NPLNSW.COM.AU U20’S MATCH PREVIEW

Sydney Olympic and Hakoah Sydney City East are both searching for their first wins of the season when the pair meet at Belmore Sports Ground in Friday afternoon’s other fixture. The hosts currently prop up the table after losses to Bonnyrigg White Eagles and Manly United and are yet to find the back of the net in their two matches played. The Blues will fancy their chances at turning that record around when Hakoah come calling on Friday. Paul Hubbard’s side have conceded ten goals so far this campaign including six in a 6-3 loss to Sutherland in round three but have also looked more than capable of matching the competition’s best in their clashes with the Sharks and Sydney FC in round one. Hakoah’s Finley Hayhurst has three goals to his name this season following a brace against Sutherland last weekend while frontman Connor Eldridge is yet to find the back of the net in 2018 – both will be attacking forces that require nullifying if Olympic are to get off the mark on Friday.
