ACCEPT's Headline Show at Bang Your Head! Festival 2015 Has Been Immortalised for Eternity! New Release Information uu January ACCEPT’s headline show at Bang Your Head! Festival 2015 has been immortalised for eternity! When heavy metal titans ACCEPT returned to the stage in 2009, nobody knew that this reunion would also lead to a union of older and younger metal generations, nor that guitar matador Wolf Hoffmann and his fellows were just starting the most successful chapter of their band’s history. After nearly seven years, countless live sensations and three successful albums, with »Blind Rage« even achieving #1 in the official German charts, it is time: ACCEPT have bundled the energy, the rage and the thunderstorm of their 40-year career into a new live DVD, for the first time since their comeback. This result, with its catchy title »Restless And Live« will be launched on January 13th on Blu-ray and DVD, each equipped with two CDs. ACCEPT’s headline show at Bang Your Head!!! Festival 2015 has been immortalised for eternity! Even if the band members had some doubts in the beginning that agreeing to the performance would be the right decision to make - because new musicians Christopher Williams and Uwe Lulis had only joined the line-up just shortly before - those doubts were very quickly proved wrong. The concert soon showed that they meshed perfectly into the distinct corpus that is ACCEPT. That’s why the video director of the Bang Your Head!!! Festival wanted the band to be able to watch their performance again - and when watching the video material, the band realised that this was the show that perfectly demonstrated the piercing force of the new line-up. “In 2010 EVERYTHING had a big question mark next to it. What will happen, if…? Six years went by, three albums - with »Blind Rage« being our first number one charting album! But we will never forget that we hadn’t played many concerts with Uwe Lulis and Christopher Williams before we walked onto the stage at Bang your Head!!! Festival. Everyone was nervous - it was the first gig for Christopher Williams in Germany and the first show for Uwe in Germany with ACCEPT… he was aware of the presence of his fans and friends, and we knew that our fans were anxious to meet the new members! The beginning of the show was a thrill, but when we left the stage, it was clear: it had sparked!” Wolf Hoffmann and Uwe Lulis doing their perfectly synchronised head banging is just one example showing that the chemistry matched up per- fectly from the very beginning. Though the Teutonic masters focus on their three latest albums, it doesn’t matter: whether old or new - fans of ACCEPT frenetically celebrate each and every sound produced by the flitting guitars and they are constantly singing out loud. Brown, Advisor Between 1984 and 1991, heavy metal became one of the most publicly popular and commercially successful rock music subgenres. The focus of this dissertation is to explore the following research questions: How did the subculture of heavy metal music between 1984 and 1991 evolve and what meanings can be derived from this ongoing process? How did the contextual circumstances surrounding heavy metal music during this period impact the performative choices exhibited by artists, and from a position of retrospection, what lasting significance does this particular era of heavy metal merit today? A textual analysis of metal- related materials fostered the development of themes relating to the selective choices made and performances enacted by metal artists. These themes were then considered in terms of gender, sexuality, race, and age constructions as well as the ongoing negotiations of the metal artist within multiple performative realms. Occurring at the juncture of art and commerce, heavy metal music is a purposeful construction. Metal musicians made performative choices for serving particular aims, be it fame, wealth, or art. These same individuals worked within a greater system of influence. Metal bands were the contracted employees of record labels whose own corporate aims needed to be recognized.

Taková vystoupení do jisté míry sice nabourávají poselství celého konceptu („Už opravdu, ale opravdu naposledy pro vás zahrajeme…“), na druhou stranu s sebou nesou určité uvolnění, kdy skalní si mohou ještě jednou zadovádět, opozdilci si mohou odbýt svou premiéru na turné a samotný interpret je rád, že z něj nadmíru povedeným turné spadl tlak, a tak si nyní může s klidem a radostí z muziky samé užít posledních pár bonusových štací. Přesně takové události jsme mohli být svědky 9. prosince 2016 v brněnské hale Vodova, kde se zmíněný heavy metalový velikán rozhodl pod projektem nesoucím jeho příjmení definitivně naposledy dopřát českému publiku znění starých hitů Accept s originálním vokálem. Kšeft je kšeft, samozřejmě, ovšem u skutečných kovových legend, mezi něž Udo Dirkschneidera řadím, jsem přesvědčen, že jde primárně o muziku a fanoušky, o podnikatelský záměr až sekundárně. Nemá cenu dál chodit kolem horké kaše, většina fanoušků již prakticky totožné vystoupení navštívila v Praze, Ostravě, Zlíně či dodatečně na Metalfestu. Málokdo si událost nechal ujít. Proto bych chtěl brněnský report pojmout spíše z hlediska zajímavostí a postřehů, dále jako zamyšlení se nad odkazem koncertu Dirkschneiderova uskupení. Již jsem zmínil pohodovou atmosféru. Ta po celou dobu sršela ze všech aktérů na pódiu. Ačkoliv se s výjimkou samotného Uda de facto jednalo o Accept revival, opravdová radost z hraní časem prověřených písní byla znát u všech přítomných.
