25TH ANNIVERSARY The 2018-19 season marks the 25th anniversary of the Florida Panthers franchise. The Panthers will celebrate their 25th anniversary throughout the season including a select series of Saturday games called "Legacy Saturdays". These "Legacy Saturdays" will honor, celebrate and welcome home some of players and figures who have shaped the first 25 years of Panthers history including Roberto Luongo, William A. Torrey, Radek Dvorak, Olli Jokinen, , Bill Lindsay, Bryan McCabe, Ray Sheppard, Tomas Vokoun and Stephen Weiss. On Oct. 11, at the Panthers home opener against CBJ, the Cats will honor the inaugural 1993-94 team with featured members of the team in attendance.

FIGHTING TO THE FINISH Following the 2018 NHL All-Star break, the Panthers completed the season with a 25-8-2 record, missing the postseason by one point. From Jan. 29 to the completion of the 2017-18 regular season, Florida posted a league-leading 25 wins and tied with NSH for first in the NHL in points (52). During that run, the Panthers 16 home wins and 32 home points tied TOR for first in the NHL in home wins/points over that span.

CAPTAIN BARKY On Sept. 17, Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Dale Tallon announced that Aleksander Barkov had been named the 10th captain in Panthers franchise history. Barkov joins a list of captains in Panthers history that include Brian Skrudland (1993-98), Scott Mellanby (1997-01), Pavel Bure (2001-02), Paul Laus (2001-02), Olli Jokinen (2003-08), Bryan McCabe (2009-11), Ed Jovanovski (2012-14), Willie Mitchell (2014-16) and Derek MacKenzie (2016-18). The 23-year old native of Tampere, led Florida with a career-high 78 points and 51 assists in 2017-18, while leading the NHL in shorthanded goals (5). His 78 point-campaign made him the the first Panther to reach the 70-point mark in a decade (Olli Jokinen -71, 2007-08) and the first to reach the 50-assist mark since 2006-07 (Jokinen – 52). Barkov logged an average 22:04 TOI, the second-most in the NHL among forwards. On the road, Barkov led all Panthers players with 35 points (12-23-35). A 2018 NHL All-Star, Barkov was named a finalist for the 2017-18 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, the second finalist nod for the award he has received in his career.

LU CAN DO IT Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo enters tonight's game 14 wins shy of passing for sole possession of third in all-time goaltending wins. The 39-year old native of Montreal, Quebec is one of only three netminders in history to play in 1,000 NHL games. Aside from his place all-time in wins, Luongo ranks 29 games shy of passing Patrick Roy for second all-time in games played by a goaltender and is one shutout away from breaking his tie with Tony Esposito and Belfour for sole possession of ninth all-time. INVINCIBLE In 2017-18, Vincent Trocheck posted career-bests in points (75), goals (31) and assists (44). The 25-year old native of Pittsburgh, Pa., led the Panthers in goals, power-play goals (13), power-play points (27), shots (287) and hits (145). Trocheck's 31 goals made him the first Panther to surpass 30 goals in a season since reached 31 goals in 2008-09. Trocheck logged the most total power play TOI on Florida (285:13) and also produced the more points than any Panther at BB&T Center (17-27-44). His 14 road goals led all Cats skaters. Trocheck was named a home alternate captain for Florida on Sept. 19.

IRON YANDS Keith Yandle enters the 2017-18 season as the NHL's active iron man leader, having played in 715 consecutive NHL regular season games. His current games played streak ranks seventh in NHL history and is 23 games away from passing (737) for sole possession of the sixth-longest. Yandle led all Panthers defensemen with 56 points and 48 assists in 2017-18. His point and assist totals each fell one shy of tying the Panthers single-season records by a defenseman (Robert Svehla, 57 points, 49 assists, 1995-96, , 49 assists, 2011-12). Since 2007-08 among defensemen, the two-time All-Star ranks first in power-play points (202), fourth in assists (379) and fifth in points (464). On Sept. 19, the 32-year old native of Boston, Mass., was named a home alternate captain for the Panthers.

STAR EK 22-year old Aaron Ekblad led all Panthers defensemen in 2017-18 in goals (16), power-play goals (5), game-winning goals (4) and shots (189), while leading the team in total even-strength TOI (1,559:42) and shorthanded TOI (183:49). The two-time All-Star blueliner's 16 goals tied him for fourth among all NHL defensemen in goals and tied the Panthers franchise single-season goals record by a defenseman (Jason Garrison, 16 goals, 2011-12). He enters tonight's game only one goal shy of breaking his tie with Jay Bouwmeester (53) for sole possession of second in franchise history for goals by a defenseman. Ekblad was named a road alternate captain for the Panthers on Sept. 19.

HUBY DUBY DU Since entering the NHL in the 2012-13 season, no player has played more games in a Panthers uniform than Jonathan Huberdeau (385). In 2017-18, Huberdeau notched career-best numbers in goals (27), assists (42) and points (69), while ranking second on Florida in even-strength goals (20). The 25-year old native of Saint-Jerome, Quebec, led Florida in scoring during last season's first half, notching 40 points (15-25-40) in 41 games. On Sept. 19, Huberdeau was named a road alternate captain for the Panthers.

CAT DADDY After five seasons in the KHL, Evgenii Dadonov returned to Florida in 2017-18, producing a 65-point season (28-37-65). The 29-year old native of Chelyabinsk, Russia, led the Panthers in even-strength goals (22), game-winning goals (6) and multi-goal games (5). Following the All-Star break, Dadonov led the Panthers in goals (17) and tied for first on the club in points (35).

NEW IN TOWN Florida enters 2018-19 with new additions set to make their debuts with the Panthers including Mike Hoffman, Troy Brouwer, Bogdan Kiselevich and Jacob MacDonald. Hoffman has surpassed the 20-goal mark in each of his last four seasons and has surpassed 55 points in each of his last three campaigns. Brouwer is a 2010 Stanley Cup Champion (CHI) who is a veteran of 763 NHL regular season games, producing 341 points (169-172-341) and has played in 102 career Stanley Cup Playoff games. In his first season with the club, Boughner, 47, led Florida to a 44-30-8, 96-point campaign. Under Boughner, the Panthers set franchise records for single-season home wins (27), consecutive home wins (8) and owned a 25-8-2 record following the NHL All-Star break.
