The University of has recovered a collection of salvaged materials from that can be used to benefit the local community. The university is seeking proposals from the public to use these salvaged materials in creative ways. The university wants to celebrate Hayward Field’s legacy by using these materials to positively impact the community for years to come.

An advisory committee comprised of a cross-section of stakeholders with an interest in Hayward Field, historic preservation, and Oregon track and field will lead this process for gathering and reviewing Proposals and, ultimately, making recommendations for use of these materials. The advisory committee includes representatives from the following organizations: • Lane County Historical Society • Oregon Historical Society • State Office of Historic Preservation • City of Eugene • City of Springfield • Lane County • Travel Lane County/Eugene, Cascades & Coast Sports Commission • University Staff and Administration • University Faculty • University Track and Field • University – Special Collections and University Archives • UO running club The committee will score proposals using the following criteria. Although the general criteria to be used for evaluation proposals has been provided, the university and committee do not intend to limit imagination or creativity in preparing a proposal which will accomplish the stated goals and expectations.

Terms and Conditions: 1. Proposer acknowledges responsibility for collection and transportation of salvaged materials. 2. Salvaged items are known to contain lead based paint and dry rot and are provided on an “AS-IS” basis. University makes no warranties or representations with respect to the salvaged items, including, but not limited to, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The Committee and the accept no liability for the safety, soundness, or condition of the salvaged materials. 3. In the case that there are insufficient materials of a specific type, the university and committee may suggest to the proposer, alternate materials salvaged from Hayward Field or may inquire of the proposer if a partial request may be fulfilled. 4. If a proposal is selected and the proposer is not able to finish the project by the identified timeframe, the proposer is responsible for working with BRING to make salvaged materials available to the community.

By submitting this Proposal, Proposer represents and warrants that:

1. No officer, agent or employee of University has participated on behalf of University in preparation of the Proposal, that the Proposal is made in good faith, without fraud, collusion, or connection of any kind with any other proposer for the same work and that the Proposer is compete solely on the Proposer’s own behalf without connection with, or obligation to any undisclosed person or firm. 7.
