Rogers State Oklahoma City Hillcats Stars Head Coach: Head Coach: Justin Barkley Dionne Phelps Record: 20-9, 8-7 Record: 13-10, 6-9 NAIA Ranking: RV NAIA Ranking: NR TODAY’S MATCH-UP: Rogers State (20-9, 8-7) closes out its six year stint in the Sooner Athletic Conference with a Senior 2012-13 Schedule Day/Whiteout contest versus Oklahoma City University Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Claremore Expo with the regular season fi nale. RSU is coming off a 79-69 victory over St. Gregory’s Wednesday evening in Shawnee. The Stars fell to Oklahoma Baptist in Date Time Opponent Location/Results Shawnee Thursday evening 77-72. RSU holds the all-time series advantage over the Stars at 9-3. RSU is 3-1 versus the Stars Tue. Oct. 30 7 pm Central Baptist W 90-66 inside the Claremore Expo. Tue. State W 81-69 HOLDMAN’S LONE YEAR: In his one season as a Hillcat after transferring from Oral Roberts, Ken Holdman has helped RSU Tue. Nov. 13 7 pm MidAmerica Nazarene W 98-86 to its sixth straight 20-win season. He is on pace to set the single season free throw shooting record knocking down 82 percent from the charity stripe this season. Holdman is tied for 12th in the program career assists list and ranks 17th in career scoring on Fri. Nov. 16 6 pm Our Lady of the Lake W 85-77 the school career list. Sat. Nov. 17 12 pm St. Thomas W 63-62 Tue. Nov. 20 7:30 pm Avila W 80-69 IN THE LANE WITH MR. GIBSON: When it comes to the free throw lane the past two seasons it’s been an area held down by Fri. Nov. 23 5 pm Evangel L 59-72 the six-foot-eight Brian Gibson. A native of Baton Rouge, La. Gibson joined RSU a season ago from the University of Wyoming. Brian ranks seventh on the program’s career rebound list with 282 and is eighth on the school block list swatting away 24 in his Sat. Nov. 24 7 pm Northwood W 79-51 two-years. Mon. Dec. 8 8 pm Northwestern Okla. State L 70-76 Hammond came to the Hill last season as a point guard and this year due to a lack of numbers in the post has developed into a Mon. Dec. 10 7 pm Ecclesia W 97-58 power point forward of sorts. He ranks sixth in free throws made (172), sixth in assists (128), tenth in rebounds (246) and 11th in points (571) in the school career record book. Sat. Jan. 5 5 pm Mid-America Christian L 84-93 guard ranks third in the school career record books in scoring with (953 points), second in three-point fi eld goals made at 174 and *Thu. Jan. 10 8 pm Oklahoma Baptist W 67-57 11th in blocks at 20 in his two year career. This season Williams has set the school single season record for fi eld goals attempted (375) and three-point fi eld goals attempted (227) while racking up 472 points. *Sat Jan. 12 5 pm John Brown L 80-81 *Thu. Jan. 19 5 pm St. Gregory’s W 93-58 KENDRELL CLOSES OUT CAREER: Kendrell Thompson’s career as a Hillcat didn’t have quite the storybook ending that he and RSU fans had hoped for due to injury but the complete book on his career is impressive. In just 59 games played he ranks *Thu. Jan. 24 8 pm Wayland Baptist W 69-61 among the top 10 in fi ve statistical categories in the program’s career record book. He is tied for fourth in fi eld throws made (176), *Sat. Jan. 26 3 pm Lubbock Christian L 65-69 fi fth in three point fi eld goals made (99), seventh in points (779), eighth in fi eld goals made (252) and tied for ninth in assists (110). Starting all 26 of the games he appeared in this season Thompson fi nished with 346 points shooting 49 percent from the *Sat. Feb. 2 5 pm Oklahoma Baptist W 59-55 fi eld. *Mon. A four-year player for RSU, Ewings joined the Hillcats in 2009-10 from Jenks High School and started 16 of the 33 *Thu. Feb. 14 8 pm Lubbock Christian L 57-61 games he played in that year. Today he ranks in the top 10 of eight school career statistical categories. Playing in 126 games, most of any player in program history, Alex is tied for second in the school career assists list with 163 and ranks third in career steals *Sat. Feb. 16 3 pm Wayland Baptist W 74-59 with 103. Ewings has helped the Hillcats go to consecutive NAIA National Tournament quarterfi nal appearances and remain *Wed. RSU head coaches are available through- Enrollment: 4,632 out the week, mainly in the morning. Student-athletes are also available for interviews, typically right before Founded: 1909 or aft er practice. Most Hillcat teams practice between 3:00 p.m and 5:00 p.m. during the week. Credentials Nickname: Hillcats Request for credentials to athletic events should be made at least 48 hours in advance of the event and directed Colors: Navy Blue and Red to the sports information offi ce. Spouses, dates, children and non-working media will not be given a pass or President: Dr. Larry Rice assigned a seat on press row. RSU does not provide parking passes to the media.
