A native of Baton Rouge, La. Gibson joined RSU a season ago from the University of Wyoming. Last season Opong played in 17 games for the Blackbirds averaging 1.2 points per game in nearly four minutes of play per game as a sophomore. In 2011-12 he shot 33 percent from three-point range and hit 61.1 percent at the charity stripe. As a freshman he ap- peared in 11 games in 2010-11 averaging 1.4 points and 0.6 rebounds in 3.5 minutes per contest. He helped lead Cegep de Sainte-Foy to the provincial championship in 2010 and was named the fi nals Most Valuable Player. Originally from Nairobi, Kenya he was named a CCAA All-Canadian.
