Gold Coast Masters Championships Queensland Race Walking Club Inc. Building on a fine tradition of race walking, 62 years in the making. HEEL & TOE January 11th 2018 Australian 10,000m Walk Championships Canberra, Sunday, January 14th The Athletics Australia open 10,000 metres track championships are being conducted in Canberra this Sunday morning. There has been some controversy since the race walks were brought forward to January 14th instead of being part of AA Open Track Championships on the Gold Coast in mid-February. Last year there was a single combined race. This year given the number of entrants there are separate men and women’s races. Queensland will be represented by defending champion Katie Hayward and Jessica Pickles in the women’s 10,000 metres. Luke McCutcheon is our sole representative in a huge field of 36 entrants in the men’s race. The races include a large contingent of overseas athletes who are currently in Canberra as part of an AIS Nutritional Study camp . We wish the walkers all the very best this Sunday.

She did understandably slow from there on but her finishing time of 47:00 was a 2:22 PB. It is a shame that she is too young for this year's World Junior Champs but she is eligible to contest the World Cup and, like Jesse, is an automatic selection as winner of the trial. • 19 year old Jesse also strode straight to the lead in the Junior Men's race and was on target for a sub-41 at the 6km mark before fading slightly in the warming morning conditions.

  • Re-Imagining and Updating Catholicity: Building Church Unity in a Globalized and Scattered World*
Re-imagining and Updating Catholicity: Building Church Unity in a Globalized and Scattered World* SANDRA ARENAS PÉREZ** ABSTRACT ontemporary Catholic theological debate on catholicity claims to recover a qualitative conception of catholicity, in order to correct C the classical emphasis on geographical breadth. The tendencies to iden tify catholicity with universality, to confuse universality with uniformity and to equate continuity with immutability, prevented the Church from developing a holistic approach to catholicity. In facing the challenge of globalization, Christianity can offer an alter native way of togetherness in diversity, which seems to be the current translation of the theological category of the catholicity of the Church. This article’s focus will be therefore on the role and significance of community building and the Church’s unity in regard to sustaining creation and addressing globalization. Key Words: Catholicity, Church Unity, Globalization, Commu nity building, Ecumenism. * This article results of fruitful theological discussions held with some colleagues at the Theology Faculty of the Catholic University of Leuven-Belgium, on the occasion of the International Conference “To Discern Creation in a Scattered World”. A preliminar version, with a stronger emphasis on globalization, was published as part of the memoirs of the above mentioned event: Lernen für das Leben. Perspektiven ökumenischen Lernens und ökumenischer Bildung. Leuven: Lembeck, 2010., p. 187-201 ** Doctor in Systematic Theology, Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.
