Njen rad je odraz društvenih sukoba koji proizilaze iz političkih propisa i ograničenja, posebno kada putuje ili radi u inostranstvu. Dok se kreće kroz prostor i vrijeme ona svojom kamerom animira umrtvljenu okolinu, kako je to zabilježio u svojim radovima o brzini savremeni filozof Pol Virilio. Njeni radovi naglašavaju kontrast između prirode i grada, sreće i tuge, autoriteta i slobode. Izložba „Fragmenti vremena i stvarnosti“ u Centru savremene umjetnosti Crne Gore predstavlja izbor video radova koji su nastali tokom različitih umjetničkih rezidencija kada je Valeri istraživala uticaje promjene okoline na umjetničku kreativnost. Tokom boravka u raznim zemljama (Singapur, Portugal, Austrija, Rusija, Los Anđeles itd.) stvarala je različite eksperimentalne i poetske video radove koji su govorili o njenom uključenju u novu sredinu. Ona često traži inspiraciju u prirodi, istražuje različita stanja podsvijesti i pri tom koristi kameru, montažu i zvuk kako bi stvorila različite vizuelne priče, onako kako slikari koriste slikarske tehnike. Ona svojom kamerom snima različite trenutke a zatim ih u montažnoj sobi koristi kako bi stvorila fragmente nove stvarnosti. Na jednom spratu možemo vidjeti video instalaciju „Pogled kroz prozor“ koja stvara imaginarni prostor, liniju prozora kroz koje posjetioci galerije mogu gledati i posmatrati strance, čudna mjesta i slučajne svakodnevne detalje. Video materijal je u potpunosti snimljen u Parizu a svaki „video prozor“ je različit. Instalacija je posvećena svim žrtvama koje su izgubile život u nedavnim događajima. Na drugom spratu možemo pogledati ciklus video poezije pod nazivom „Umjetnik u inostranstvu“. Projekat je počeo tokom avgusta 2014. godine kada se Valeri preselila u Portugal na godinu dana kako bi istraživala uticaje privremene promjene mjesta boravka, zemlje i kulture na umjetničku produkciju i stvaralaštvo. Video zapisi su sastavljeni kao eksperimentalni poetski umjetnički filmovi u kojima Valeri koristi principe analogne onima u slikarstvu. Ona video produkciju i montažu, dizajn zvuka i pisanje poezije vidi kao dio istog procesa ponovnog stvaranja različitih atmosfera i stapanja različitih stvarnosti. Na istom spratu se nalazi i selekcija drugih video radova koji su nastali tokom njenog boravka u inostranstvu, kao što je „Udaljena memorija“, koji govori o vremenima koja su prethodila dezintegraciji Jugoslavije i koji motiviše na razmišljanje o tome šta rat zapravo donosi i kako ljudi brzo sve zaboravljaju. „Zov nostalgije“ je još jedan kratki eksperimentalni film koji govori o prošlosti i tradiciji a njegova glavna tema su vino, korijeni i sjećanje; eksperimentalni kratki film „Sloboda 2.0“ bio je dio video instalacije u Singapuru gdje je Valeri bodljikavom žicom podijelila galeriju u dva dijela i istraživala vještačke granice među nama; video rad „Amblem“ gleda dublje u njenu prošlost, gdje je ona istraživala unutrašnju prirodu ljudskog ponašanja. Ova izložba pruža uvid u stvaralaštvo Valeri Volf Gang kao putujuće umjetnice koja se bavi različitim političkim, ekonomskim, ekološkim i društvenim pitanjima, tražeći i slikajući svoje odgovore kamerom, u potrazi za savršenom ravnotežom i harmonijom između haosa i reda, slobode i autoriteta. Kroz njene radove možemo sagledati fragmente vremena i stvarnosti koji su postali dio novih eksperimentalnih video radova i filmova. „Mi balansiramo, zato prelazimo sa tišine na riječi; njišemo se između njih jer to je pokret života“. (dijalog iz video instalacije „Pogled kroz prozor“) Pogled kroz prozor / A view through the window video instalacija / video installation video projections, duct tape, size variable video projekcije, ljepljiva traka, dimenzije promjenljive Paris, 2014 FRAGMENTS OF TIME AND REALITY FRAGMENTI ČASA IN REALNOSTI The work of visual artist Valerie Wolf Gang focuses on video and contemporary artistic practices. Her work reflects social conflicts arising from political regulations and constraints, especially when travelling or working abroad. When moving in space and time she animates the dead surroundings with her camera as suggested in the writings about speed by the contemporary philosopher Paul Virilio. Her works underscore the contrasts between nature and city, happiness and sadness, authority and freedom. The exhibition ‘Fragments of Time and Reality’ at the Contemporary Art Centre of Montenegro features a selection of video works, which were made on different artist residencies, where Valerie explored the influences of change of surroundings on artistic creativity. During her temporary stay in different countries (such as Singapore, Portugal, Austria, Russia, Los Angeles etc.) she created different experimental and poetical videos which talk about her involvement with the new surroundings. She often seeks inspiration in nature, explores different subconscious states and uses camera, editing and sound to create different visual stories, similar as painters use their techniques. She captures different moments with her camera and then manipulates them in the editing room creating thus fragments of a new reality. On one floor we can watch the video installation ‘A View through the Window’ which creates the imaginary space, a line of windows, through which the visitors of the gallery can look and observe strangers, strange places and random everyday details. The video material was completely shot in Paris and each “video window” is different. Installation is dedicated to all the victims who lost their life in recent events. On the other floor we can watch series of video poetry ‘An Artist Abroad’. It is a project that started in August 2014 when Valerie moved to Portugal for one year to explore and research the influence of temporary change of residence, country and culture on artistic production and creativity. The videos are constructed as experimental poetical art films in which Valerie uses principles analogous to those of painting. She sees the video production and editing, the sound design and the poetry writing as part of the same process of re-creating different atmospheres and merging different realities. On the same floor there is also a selection of other videos which were made during her stay abroad, such as ‘Distant Memory’, which speaks about the times before the disintegration of Yugoslavia and encourages reflection on what the war actually brings and how quickly people forget everything, ‘The Call of Nostalgia’ is another short experimental film which speaks about the past and tradition, its main subject is wine, roots and memory; the experimental short film ‘Freedom 2.0’ was part of a video installation in Singapore where Valerie divided the gallery in two parts with barbed wire and explored the artificial boundaries between ourselves; with the video ‘Emblem’ we look more into her past, where she was exploring inner nature of human behavior. This exhibition is an insight into the work of Valerie Wolf Gang as a travelling artist dealing with different political, economic, environmental and social issues, seeking and painting her answers with her camera, looking for a perfect balance and harmony between chaos and order, freedom and authority.     VAF WILDCARDS 2016 In 2005 werden de VAF Wildcards in het leven geroepen. Intussen zijn ze een onmisbaar instrument om nieuw en veelbelovend talent te begeleiden van de schoolbanken naar de professionele Vlaamse filmwereld. Afgestudeerde filmmakers kunnen met hun eindwerk meedingen naar een VAF Wildcard. De uitreiking van de prijzen vindt plaats tijdens het Internationaal Kortfilmfestival van Leuven. Het festival vertoont bovendien alle films die deelnemen aan de Wildcardcompetitie. De films kunnen er ‘on demand’ bekeken worden op een aantal interactieve schermen. De laureaten van de VAF Wildcards krijgen een premie om een eerste buitenschools project te verwezenlijken buiten het reguliere selectiecircuit van het Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds. Bovendien worden de winnaars individueel begeleid door een professionele coach en krijgen ze carte blanche op vlak van onderwerp, lengte etc. van dit toekomstige project. Alle Wildcards samen zijn goed voor 310.000 EUR. Zo zijn het meteen de grootste filmprijzen van het land. Er worden Wildcards uitgereikt binnen alle categorieën die het VAF ondersteunt. Er zijn twee fictie Wildcards (60.000 EUR per Wildcard), twee documentaire Wildcards (40.000 EUR per Wildcard), één animatie Wildcard (eveneens 60.000 EUR) en – uniek dit jaar - twee FilmLab Wildcards (25.000 EUR per Wildcard). De VAF Wildcards zijn op korte termijn een begrip geworden. Filmscholen en -studenten hechten er veel belang aan. Producenten en zenders houden de wildcardwinnaars scherp in de gaten. De populariteit van de Wildcards blijkt o.m. uit het aantal inzendingen: 90 dit jaar. De resultaten en het professioneel parcours van een aantal wildcardwinnaars spreken tot de verbeelding. Gilles Coulier, Adil El Arbi en Bilall Fallah, Tom Van Avermaet, Nathalie Teirlinck, Gust Van den Berghe of Sahim Omar Kalifa zijn maar enkele fictieregisseurs die ooit een VAF Wildcard wonnen en intussen hun naam vestigden.

    PROGRAM PROJEKCIJ Program je narejen po bolj ali manj smiselnih sklopih, ki se trudijo ujemati z urami predavanj in tako dajejo najbolj optimalno možnost za ogled. PONEDELJEK Ponedeljek bo otvoril Kaos, novi film avtorjev Aleša Pavšarja in Roberta Mastnaka, ki sta na Filofestu 2007 dobila nagrado za najboljši film. Sicer pa bo ponedeljkov štart v filmski maraton na Filozofski fakulteti, tako kot se za vse prave maratone spodobi, umirjen in preudaren. Sprehodili se bomo skozi kontemplativni filmski univerzum mladih avtorjev, spoznavali izvirne načine učenja ter (nore) profesorje in znanstvenike vseh vrst. Posebej velja izpostaviti izjemno poetični francoski film La Theorie de L´Univers, finsko zgodovinsko dramo Kotiinpaluu, ki je bila predvajana tudi na festivalu v Cannesu, ter lanskoletnega kandidata za študentskega oskarja Trst je naš!     C U R R I C U L U M V I T A E K a i S t ä n i c k e Geboren am 22.06.1986 in Nordrhein- Westfalen, begann Kai Stänicke nach dem Abschluss der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife ein Studium an der Werbe- und Medienakademie Marquardt (WAM) in Dortmund. Im Rahmen seines Film- und Fernsehwirtschaftsstudiums entstanden hier zahlreiche Kurzfilme unter seiner Regie, unter anderem die Komödie „Flamenco Surealisto“ (2007), die vom Salzgeber Verlag vertrieben wird und der Musicalfilm „VerkehrtHAIRum“ (2008), der Nachwuchsförderung der Filmstiftung NRW erhielt. Nach Erhalt des Diploms 2008 arbeitete Kai Stänicke in der Herstellungsleitung bei X Filme Creative Pool in Berlin. Hier betreute er unter anderem Michael Hanekes „Das weisse Band“ (2008) in der Postproduktion und Tom Tykwers „Drei“ (2010) in der Vorproduktion. Seither hat er als freier Filmschaffender in den Bereichen Regieassistenz und Set Aufnahmeleitung an vielen deutschen und internationalen Filmproduktionen mitgewirkt. Born 1986 in North Rine-Westphalia, Germany. While studying Film- & TV Production in Dortmund he directed his first short films. After receiving his Diploma, Kai Stänicke worked for X Filme Creative Pool in Berlin and on set of various productions as Assistant Director and Assistent Set Manager. Next to his work on set of feature films, Kai Stänicke produces and directs short films and music videos. His films were shown in festivals all over the world (Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Paris, Berlin, Melbourne, Tel Aviv, Mumbai) and received both critical acclaim and awards.
