Our previous letters always have gone to the libraries of colleges, universities, theological seminaries, and research institutions. However, I am at last yielding to the requests of a number of our participating Church Bodies and am sending to you the enclosed information pages. If you want tiny of our films, just let me know. Please notei WE ARE MOVING, as of October 1, 1986. Our new address after that date will be Dr. A. T. By this letter, we seek your cooperation in gathering the Official Yearbooks of all Church Bodies, to be microfilmed in their entirety and released as 'The State of the Churches in the USA & Canada 1988." For the previous issues of this large collection, see the back side of the enclosed Record rage. Many, perhaps most, of you can send us a copy of your existing Yearbook (do not wait for a Jater printing of a new edition), without charge. It is only in this way that we can keep our costs within bounds. However, if it cannot be sent free, send us a bill, and we will pay. This is the only collection of its kind. It has very great value for a large number of or^inizatlons and agencies. Your cooperation in this project is immensely valuable. We plan to keep this good work going at least until 1990. That will be the time for issuing a new edition of The PUith & Order Commission, World Council of Churches, 1980-1989. Again, we send our grateful thanks for your good help in this program. Some proposed relationships held true, while others indicate that social integration and urbanicity are so intertwined in their effects on suicide that no clear, unidirectional pattern emerges. The religious affiliation measure captured unique variations in the role religion plays in this relationship; depending on how urbanicity was measured.

  • List of Christian Denominations - Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia Page 1 of 18
List of Christian denominations - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Page 1 of 18 List of Christian denominations From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected fromChristian Denominations) List of Christian denominations (or Denominations self-identified as Christian) ordered by historical and doctrinal relationships. (See also: Christianity; Christian denominations; List of Christian denominations by number of members). Some groups are large (e.g. Catholics, Lutherans, Anglicans or Baptists), while others are just a few small churches, and in most cases the relative size is not evident in this list. Also, modern movements such as Fundamentalist Christianity, Pietism, Evangelicalism, Pentecostalism and the Holiness movement sometimes cross denominational lines, or in some cases create new denominations out of two or more continuing groups, (as is the case for many United and uniting churches, for example). Such subtleties and complexities are not clearly depicted here. Additionally, some groups viewed by non-adherents as denominational actively resist being called a "denomination" and do not have any formal denominational structure, authority, or record-keeping beyond the local congregation; several groups within Restorationism fall into this category. Note: This is not a complete list, but aims to provide a comprehensible overview of the diversity among denominations of Christianity. As there are reported to be approximately 38,000 Christian denominations,[1] many of which cannot be verified to be significant, only those denominations with Wikipedia articles will be listed in order to ensure that all entries on this list are notable and verifiable. Note: Between denominations, theologians, and comparative religionists there are considerable disagreements about which groups can be properly called Christian, disagreements arising primarily from doctrinal differences between groups.

The publication herewith presented, an inventory of the archives of Saline County, is number 82 of the Illinois series. The Historical Records Survey Program was undertaken in the winter of 1935-36 for the purpose of providing useful employment to needy unem- ployed historians, lawyers, teachers, and research and clerical workers. In carrying out this objective, the project was organized to compile inven- tories of historical materials, particularly the unpublished government documents and records which are basic in the administration of local gov- ernment, and which provide invaluable data for students of political, eco- nomic, and social history. The archival guide herewith presented is in- tended to meet the requirements of day-to-day administration by the offi- cials of the county, and also the needs of lawyers, business men, and other citizens who require facts from the public records for the proper conduct of their affairs.
