Students are eligible to be considered for a UNCF scholarship if they: Are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian and Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American; Are a citizen/legal permanent resident or nationals of the United States; Have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (un-weighted); Will be enrolling for the first-time at a U.S. accredited* college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student in the fall of 2019; or GED Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities; Meet the Federal Pell Grant* eligibility criteria; and Have all three forms (Nominee Personal Information Form completed by the student, Nominator Form completed by an educator familiar with the student’s academic record and a Recommender Form completed by a person familiar with the student’s leadership and community service) submitted by the deadline. Deadlines: varying dates • The Daughters of the Cincinnati gives college scholarships averaging $4000 a year to the daughters of career commissioned officers of the United States armed services. Deadline: March 15 • The Nu Beta Zeta Chapter of the Zeta Phi Sorority, Inc., is offering a scholarship to a FEMALE senior with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Email or see Ms. Prather to pick up a packet. Deadline: March 15 • Flavorful Futures Scholarship-Sparkling Ice ® is awarding FIVE $5000 scholarships to eligible high school seniors who are planning their bright and colorful futures. Apply online: https://ftknox.afceachapters.org/form.php?form_id=23 Deadline: March 31 WW WW • The Major Samuel Woodfill Chapter announces its Scholarship Program for Children and Spouses of U.S. Army Soldiers in the Global War on Terrorism, Army Soldiers and Army Veterans who are currently serving or have served in the Global War on Terrorism, and Family Members of AUSA Members who belong to the Major Samuel Woodfill Chapter in that priority. Also priority is given to residents of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to first-time freshman and returning college students. The scholarship can be used for tuition, room or board. Deadline: April 1. • The Fort Knox Chapter of The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is offering one $2500 scholarship and six $1,500 scholarships to area students. Email or See Ms. Prather for an application. Deadline: April 2 • The Kentucky Federation of Republican Women is offering a $1500 scholarship to a college-bound high school senior girl. The qualified applicant must be politically active within the Republican Party and plan to register Republican. See Ms. Prather to pick up an application. Deadline: April 1. • The Cecilian Bank will be awarding twenty-seven $1000 scholarships to local seniors. Email or see Ms. Prather for an application. Applications can be submitted to Ms. Prather, via email, or snail mail. Deadline: April 9. • The Fort Knox Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club is offering scholarships to seniors with at least a 2.0 GPA. See Ms. Prather for an application.
