Lilly Cares assisted nearly 160,000 patients in need last year, a 13 percent increase from 2019. We expect the demand to grow in 2021 as our nation continues to address the impact of the pandemic.

I am honored to serve as the new chairman of the board of directors for Lilly Cares Foundation. Part of my responsibility will be to oversee an end-to-end evaluation effort of our operations resulting in enhanced services where needed to best support the growing number of patients who rely on Lilly Cares.

Completed Transition to Medication Home Delivery In 2020, Lilly Cares completed the transition to home delivery resulting in most medications being shipped to patients’ residences instead of their healthcare providers’ offices. Lilly Cares uses pharmacy services provider RxCrossroads to manage the home delivery of medications offered through Lilly Cares to treat diabetes, mental health conditions, migraine, and women’s and men’s health conditions. Covance by Labcorp Specialty Pharmacy continues to provide home delivery for specialty medications offered through Lilly Cares for conditions such as arthritis, psoriasis, growth disorders, and certain cancers. Medications that must be administered by a healthcare provider, such as infused Lilly oncology medications, will continue to be shipped to the provider’s office. Patients may also choose to continue to pick up their medication from their healthcare provider.

COVID-19 Response Lilly Cares made accommodations to assist those affected by the pandemic and to protect its staff. Through technology adaptations and safety protocols, Lilly Cares was able to continue to provide donated medications to qualifying patients without interruption.
