Threading Etiquette

Particularly for those who have never had a professional threading treatment before, you may not know what to expect. Here are some helpful pointers to prepare for the best experience.

I am so excited that you have decided to experience threading. To give you an understanding of what you can expect during our journey out of scary bushy town to divaville! The Products I Use Are: • Skin disinfectant and - witch hazel • Threading & skin prep - rice powder • Post Threading Aloe cooling gel • 100% cotton thread Before Our Session: • Please do not pluck - remember the more I have to work with the better your shape will be. If you have plucked I would prefer you reschedule and let the grow. • Please do not wear make-up, particularity eye make-up. Your eyes will tear and the make-up will run. You will be smudging everywhere. • Please do not bring pictures. I will give you the best shape your brows can have not someone else’s. • If you have not threaded before and don’t know how your skin will react – PLEASE don’t schedule a threading before an important event without trying it first to see how your skin adapts to it. I strongly advise a patch test to see how your skin will react. During our Session You will Learn: • design best suited for your shape. • We go over the positives and negatives of your brow – arch, dips, scars, or missing . • If applicable mistakes made by previous encountered. • Finally, products to groom & primp your brows at home. • Our follow up appt will go much faster, because now it is just maintenance.

Precautions: For sensitive skin threading may result in minor bumps, rashes, etc. More specifically, threading can result in temporary enlargement of the hair follicles that can allow bacteria, normally residing on the skin, to enter the follicles and cause superficial or deep skin infections. If an infection is noted, it should be evaluated and treated by a dermatologist as soon as possible. If You Have Never Been Threaded Before: You may want to consider a patch test before you undergo a threading treatment. I recommend waiting 24 - 48 hours after the patch test to see if any adverse reactions Occur before a full treatment is performed. After Care: The area that was treated may be more sensitive than usual for the next 24 - 48 hours. Please be kind to your skin, avoid harsh products that may have adverse reactions, for the next 24 - 48 hours after your treatment. Refrain from using skin care products, like and , which contain acids (i.e. Alpha-Hydroxy, glycolic, salicylic, etc.) Although these acidic ingredients help remove the dead outer layers of skin, they may cause an adverse reaction after hair removal, depending on the sensitivity of your skin. Avoid ultra-violet rays from tanning beds and/or sunbathing for at least 48 hours. Always wear proper UV protection. Gently wash the area with a proper cleansing wash in lukewarm water. Use a cold com- press to help soothe the hairless skin if you feel any discomfort or irritation after your treatment. I recommend all natural products such as witch hazel, Chamo- mile, as calming agents, but if you wish to use an over the counter product then, Hydrocortisone cream may be used after any hair removal treatments to help reduce irritation and inflam- mation, as long as you have no medical reasons prohibiting its use. Hydrocortisone cream can be found at your local drug store. I Trust You & You Trust Me: Thank you for taking the time to do your part. Hair removal and eyebrow design is a very personal thing.
