The video is notably comprised of footage shot exclusively by AOF concert-goers in Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver. During the band’s January 2020 Western Canadian tour, fans were encouraged to shoot footage of the live performance of “Season of the Flood” from their mobile devices and submit it to the band. Earlier this week, Alexisonfire sent the finished video to everyone who submitted footage, ensuring their fans were the first to give their collective work a proper global debut ahead of tonight’s public premiere. The premiere will be followed by a very special, one-time ‘watch party’ of Alexisonfire: Live At Copps, originally filmed on December 30, 2012 at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, ON, on the Alexisonfire Youtube channel. The entire band will join fans worldwide in conversation throughout the concert which features 24 songs first featured on the Alexisonfire: Live at Copps 4 LP release. Fans can also purchase Alexisonfire: Live at Copps 4 LP set at a reduced price starting today and running until Monday May 18 at: theonlybandever.com and the Dine Alone Store. “Season of the Flood” is a seductive, hypnotic, 7-minute slow-burner anchored by haunting 3-part harmonies and heavy reverb-filled guitars produced by AOF long-time friend, the late Karl “Horse” Bareham (City and Colour), and mixed by Grammy-award winning Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse). The track comes on the heels of “Familiar Drugs” and “Complicit” released last year, marking the first time the band released new music in almost 10 years. “Season of the Flood” is available to stream and purchase via DSPs HERE. An official video for single “Familiar Drugs” directed by Michael Maxxis (who directed AOF’s personal favourite video for “The Northern” and City and Colour’s “Fragile Bird”, “Thirst”, and “Lover Come Back”) is available to watch HERE. “Season of the Flood” (Live 12:00am ET, Saturday, May 16): https://orcd.co/aofseasonofthefloodvideo Alexisonfire: Live at Copps Tracklist 01) Young Cardinals 02) Boiled Frogs 03) Heading For The Sun 04) .44 Caliber Love Letter 05) Drunks, Lovers, Sinners And Saints 06) No Transitory 07) Crisis 08) Rough Hands 09) Charlie Sheen VS Henry Rollins 10) Born and Raised 11) Waterwings (And Other Poolside Fashion Faux Pas) 12) You Burn First 13) We Are The Sound 14) Keep It On Wax 15) Accept Crime 16) Mailbox Arson 17) Get Fighted 18) Old Crows 19) The Northern 20) Dogs Blood 21) Accidents 22) Pulmonary Archery 23) This Could Be Anywhere In The World 24) Happiness By The Kilowatt Live at Sound Academy Tracklist – Premieres May 18 01) Accidents – https://orcd.co/accidentslive 02) Young Cardinals - https://orcd.co/youngcardinalslive 03) Sons of Privilege + Control - https://orcd.co/sopcontrollive Link to hi-res photo: http://bit.ly/33NOQ7n | Photo credit: Vanessa Heins @vanessaheins "...it wasn’t until Alexisonfire proved themselves to be masters of the form a decade or so ago that the trail was blazed for countless bands…” - Kerrang “With songs that balance singing, screaming, frenetic pacing, and monster dynamics, Alexisonfire have earned their place among screamo’s elite.” - Revolver “...utterly and undeniably compelling…” - Metal Hammer "The band's on-stage chemistry was undeniable, making their single hour stay seem all too short." - Exclaim! AOF released four hugely successful studio albums, all Music Canada Platinum-certified: Alexisonfire (2002), Watch Out (2004), Crisis (2006), and Old Crows / Young Cardinals (2009). Crisis debuted at #1 on the Top 200 Soundscan (Canada), and Old Crows / Young Cardinals debuted at #2, and charted at #9 on the US Billboard Independent Album chart. Watch Out helped garner a New Group of the Year JUNO (2004). The band has topped charts and graced notable music magazine covers internationally. AOF’s sold-out 10 Year Anniversary tour (2012) touched down on four continents in 24 days, illustrating how meaningful the band still is to their legion of fans worldwide. Alexisonfire also has the distinction of being one of a handful of Canadian artists to perform two consecutive sold-out nights at iconic Toronto venue Budweiser Stage alongside City and Colour, Drake, The Tragically Hip, and Sarah McLachlan. • Jude the Obscure Official Biography
Jude the Obscure Official Biography Jude the Obscure, circa 2003 Jude the Obscure had a very comfortable place in the Ontario math-core/noisecore scene throughout its existence. I believe they were the first to be called “chaoticore”. Prior to the forming of this band, Grant Freifeld (“Fuzz” on bass), Jason Rice (“Jaundice” on drums) and Chuck Leach (“the Bank”/”Bankenstein” on guitar) played together in a slew of Grimsby, Ontario high school bands, often changing name every few months. When in 1998 they decided to go “heavier”, they asked a guy in their high school who was wearing a Snapcase shirt if he wanted to to be their signer; that was James Long (“Jimbo”). With Jimbo in, Jude the Obscure was born. The final addition was one of Jason’s coworker, Jordan Passfield who was brought in as an experimental guitar player. “A New Life of Painful Sin” demo, 1999 “A New Life of Painful Sin” demo, 1999 Their first show was a house show with Rise Over Run. In 1999 they recorded 3 songs at Scott Bialik’s small basement studio, soundDOME Studio, in Hamilton, live right off the floor. Jude self-released it as their first demo “A New Life of Painful Sin”. Everyone who ever talks about this demo doesn’t speak of it nicely. Nevertheless it is a good representation of what early 2000 metalcore was like. Poster advertising “A Perfect Place” on Punx Without Mohawx Records Their high school friends, Rise Over Run, had gotten signed to the Quebec label Punx Without Mohawx Records, so Jude sent them their demo as well.

  • The Zyphoid Process & Great White North
The Zyphoid Process & Great White North The Zyphoid Process (sometimes stylized as The Zyphoïd Process) was probably the only band from Quebec that I actually truly adored. This melodic, chaotic, post-metalcore band featured members from various locations in the West Island of Montreal, but they practiced in the bassist’s house studio in Ile Perrot. Meeting from attending the same high school, College Charlemagne in Pierrefonds, Quebec, most of the members had crossed paths in previous bands. One of these, Deadly Awakening featured Simon Talbot on vocals, Pierre-Charles Payer on bass, Laurent Shaker and Eric Lapierre on guitars and Dave Powell on drums. Deadly Awakening played their only show in early August of 2007 at The Vault in Pierrefonds. Their set consisted of only covers; As I Lay Dying’s “Meaning in Tragedy”, Atreyu’s “Lip Gloss and Black”, Alexisonfire’s “Waterwings” and Killswitch Engage’s “My Last Serenade”. Shaker had also been jamming with another group of friends; Eric Lapierre and Raphael Sous-Leblanc on guitars with Shaker on bass. By the fall of 2007, a new band had formed featuring Simon and Raph on guitars and dual vocals, and PCP on bass. Simon was responsible for naming the new band. “The Zyphoid Process”, an alteration of “xiphoid process”, was a term he had come across during a first aid course. Musical influences came from Poison the Well, Norma Jean, The Chariot and other emocore and metalcore bands of the era. The first Zyphoid Process artwork ever created. October 2007, Nicolas Kudeljian Initially, the band continued jamming with Dave Powell on drums but this didn’t last very long.

The most memo- rable for this magazine/bar owner were the Warped Tour and Wakestock, where such bands as Bad Religion, Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, Closet Monster, The Trews and Crowned King had audiences in mosh-pit frenzies. At Wakestock, in Wasaga Beach, Ont., Gasoline, Fox Racing, and Bluenotes rocked so hard at their two-day private cottage party that local authorities shut down the stage after Magneta Lane and Flashlight Brown.
