Office Institutional This Development Update report is published by the Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP) Hospitality* with support from the Downtown Detroit Business Improvement Zone (BIZ). The report 127,000 sq. ft. features recently completed projects in the city’s 150,000 sq. ft. 3,142,060 sq. ft. central core, as well as those currently under 1,534,753 sq. ft. construction. DDP is also featuring an overview of future projects that are in the pipeline for the TOTAL INVESTMENT* next phase of Detroit’s phenomenal growth. A $9 million historic renovation in 2017 turned the structure into a 45-unit apartment building with a Chicago School style of architecture. In April 2018, Marx Moda, an officer designer and furniture dealer, opened its official headquarters in The 751, which is in Detroit’s Financial District. The design of the building was a collaborative process that resulted in office spaces. The interior renovation pays homage to the past, while creating an efficient, forward-thinking spaces for the future.     Medical Biochemical Genetics Fellowship Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University /Detroit Medical Center (DMC/WSU) Detroit, MI Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a 1-year ACGME-accredited Medical Biochemical Genetics Fellowship, beginning in July 2013. This fellowship will provide training for physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with metabolic disorders. A medical biochemical geneticist demonstrates competence in the diagnosis and medical management of individuals of all ages with inborn errors of metabolism. The one-year training program includes intensive management of children and adults with inborn errors of metabolism. The majority of training takes place in the Division of Genetic and Metabolic Disorders at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, including outpatient management in the Children’s Hospital of Michigan’s Metabolic Clinic (CHMMC) and in-patient consultations and management at the Detroit Medical Center. The CHMMC is the State of Michigan’s designated management site for newborn screening follow-up and management for all infants diagnosed through the Newborn Screening Program. Training also includes experience in treating patients with enzyme replacement therapy. Additional time is spent in the Biochemical Genetics Laboratory at the Detroit Medical Center and in the State of Michigan’s Newborn Screening Laboratory. Training leads to active candidacy for the American Board of Medical Genetics subspecialty in Medical Biochemical Genetics.

    PRELIMINARY HISTORIC DISTRICT STUDY COMMITTEE REPORT GROSSE POINTE ESTATE HISTORIC DISTRICT GROSSE POINTE, MICHIGAN Adopted FEBRUARY 15, 2021 CHARGE OF THE HISTORIC DISTRICT STUDY COMMITTEE The historic district study committee was appointed by the Grosse Pointe City Council on December 14, 2020, pursuant to PA 169 of 1970 as amended. The study committee was charged with conducting an inventory, research, and preparation of a preliminary historic district study committee report for the following areas of the city: o Lakeland Ave from Maumee to Lake St. Clair o University Place from Maumee to Jefferson o Washington Road from Maumee to Jefferson o Lincoln Road from Maumee to Jefferson o Entirety of Rathbone Place o Entirety of Woodland Place o The lakefront homes and property immediately adjacent to the lakefront homes on Donovan Place, Wellington Place, Stratford Place, and Elmsleigh Place Upon completion of the report the study committee is charged with holding a public hearing and making a recommendation to city council as to whether a historic district ordinance should be adopted, and a local historic district designated. A list of study committee members and their qualifications follows. STUDY COMMITTEE MEMBERS George Bailey represents the Grosse Pointe Historical Society on the committee. He is an architect and has projects in historic districts in Detroit; Columbus, OH; and Savannah, GA. He is a history aficionado and serves on the Grosse Pointe Woods Historic Commission and Planning Commission. Kay Burt-Willson is the secretary of the Rivard Park Home Owners Association and the Vice President of Education for the Grosse Pointe Historical Society.
