Be part of the most thrilling cycling spectacular on earth and witness the galactic speeds of the riders as you experience the first 3 days of the 2020 up close and personal. Watch the riders start from Nice then take a steady ride up to watch the new-format race with double loops of the same mountains before racing back down to Nice to watch the sprint finish! The 2020 format is impressive and made for spectators; the double loops of the same climbs give you the chance to watch the riders twice in the space of a few hours. Test your climbing legs on Stage 3 and climb the Col de Vence, the first big Tour test.

Clothing

The South of France in late June is a warm 26º-30ºC so a summer cycling kit is advised with spring accessories for the colder valleys and mountains (neck-warmer, cap, light gloves). In the unlikely event of inclement weather, waterproof cycling jackets and gloves are indispensable. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

Garmin

Each rider will need a Garmin cycling computer and smart-phone that can be loaded with digital GPX maps that will be accompanied by printed road-maps of the routes, meeting points, lunch stops and emergency numbers provided by Nick.

First-Aid

Nick will be carrying a first-aid kit carried but please take any daily medication with you on the bike.

Day meals

France is renowned for its terrace bars, restaurants and boulangeries catering to cyclists and hungry athletes. During the day due to spectators and tourist traffic Nick proposes out-of-the-way locals-only eateries that bring flavour (literally) to this edition of the Tour de France.

Bikes

Bring your own bikes or hire them on arrival. Nice is available to build and re-pack bikes before and after the Tour trip at a fee of 50€. *Bike hire is available from Le Bike Butler, or if unavailable contact Nick for hiring options.

Nick Marshall +33 (0) 6 48 04 57 57 www.trainedinfrance.com Accommodation & Dining

Accommodation and dining is not provided as part of the tour, though due to the popularity of staying in the region at this time Nick counsels early bookings in the Nice, Biot, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Valbonne or Villeneuve town regions. *For riders staying with partners Yoga classes, nature walks and Yoga running in the hills and valleys surrounding Nice are also offered with Nicks’ wife Yuko.
