Along with an in-depth analysis of the unique governmental structure of this Church of God versus churches in the world there are various admonitions for the person who is trying to have a relationship with Jesus Christ in their lives. Also covered is how a political hierarchy caused one of the larger Churches of God in recent history, the Worldwide Church of God, to collapse. This information is provided by Mr. Fred R. Coulter, a minister of Jesus Christ for over fifty-years, who was a graduate of Ambassador College and a minister of the Worldwide Church of God for many years. There are six sermon transcripts that will inform the reader of how a church congregation should seek a relationship with God and how to maintain such a relationship. The reader, upon completing this book, will know what destroys church congregations and the spiritual attitudes that Satan uses to cut a church ministry and church members off from access to God. The first transcript, “Repentance and Resignation,” gives insight into what purpose God has for allowing the world to be so evil. Admonitions are as follow: Satan’s plan is to cause evil things, calamitous things, and confusion among people to occur so that Satan can offer the solution to the problems. The solution is a person that follows Satan and that person will lead the people into sin. The people of God, when trouble is in their lives, need to avoid becoming focused on the problems and instead focus in on God’s solutions. The people who seek a relationship with God have got to want God’s way more than anything else in their world. The end of the way of flesh is nothing, and people need to keep that in mind. If people indeed love God, then they will not love the way of the flesh. God will allow in people’s lives anything that they decide to do. People who claim to be representing God, who claim to be preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, indeed need to uphold the name of Jesus Christ. Anyone who claims to be preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the name of Jesus Christ is not used, are not preachers sent by Jesus Christ. The second transcript, “Invisible Idol/Visible Man I,” focuses upon what happens when people set themselves to serve what is called church authority held by men in a church hierarchy rather than study and do God’s Word, and are going to wind up being deceived. They will wind up enriching men and will wind up serving the will of men instead of the Will of God. Other admonitions that are given: In God’s Church, just as in the former temple in Jerusalem, when sin, corruption, and politicians acquire leadership positions, the results will be the oppression of God’s people. You can know that God will judge. When church-members give up their personal will to a visible man, who is sitting at the top of a hierarchy built to serve him, they are bowing to an invisible idol in their minds. When a church has a visible man to serve and obey in their lives it is much like a monarchy. When the man is righteous the congregation does right. But when the man is not righteous, then the congregation does wrong. If people wish to have God in their lives, to be close to God, then they are not to want a man to tell them what to do in their lives, when to do it, how to do it, and where to go. The third transcript, “Invisible Idol/Visible Man II,” gives more insight into the problems that people encounter when they wish to follow God in their lives but want a man to look to rule their lives. Important points that are noted are: There are many false teachers who cleverly take the Words of God and re-manipulate them so that the people that are seeking God, give themselves over to serving them. God’s Voice, the Voice of God, is contained in the Bible. Seek God’s Will in your life through the Bible. Those who would be with God in their lives must recognize those who stealthily introduce destructive heresies and avoid those false teachers. Their destructive heresies may look authoritative, but these teachings are not in the Bible. The person at the head of a church who puts the authority of men between those seeking God and God, worship themselves. They are their own idol. Their characteristics include always talking about themselves, me and mine conversations, always defending their approach to problems in their lives, and they feel the need to make things appear grander than they are. The fourth transcript, “Invisible Idol/Visible Man III,” speaks more of the Babylonian system of the hierarchical structure. Some other admonitions that are given are: At the end of the age the entire world will function through lies. Governments will operate by lies. Economies will operate by lies. Religions will operate by lies. The truth is that when people do not love the Truth of God they will believe and accept lies. The Laodicean Church is going to be scattered because they are addicted to things that are not of God. They need to return to God’s teachings. The fifth transcript, “The Rest of the Story I,” is concerned with things that happened in the Worldwide Church of God while Herbert W. Armstrong was still in control of it. Some of the main admonitions given are: The message of “give and get” is not the Gospel of Christ. God uses people, and God will raise up the least of anyone to do what God wants. God is the One Who is going to exalt those He wants to exalt. People who exalt themselves before God, and then tell God to recognize them, are going to have to answer for it. The last transcript, “The Rest of the Story II,” is a history of the Christian Biblical Church of God. It also has examples that illustrate the effects of wrong attitudes in the Worldwide Church of God in Fred Coulter’s life and the lives of church members. Some of the things learned during his ministry are also mentioned. Also mentioned are some history of the teachings of the Old Testament annual Sabbaths and the teaching about Ephraim and Manasseh in prophecy. In 1917 Dugger and Dodd were both aware of the teachings that the Old Testament Annual Sabbaths were to be kept and the prophecy of Ephraim and Manasseh being Great Britain and the United States of America. In 1931 Herbert W. Armstrong began teaching that the Old Testament Annual Sabbaths were to be kept. He also taught that Ephraim, son of Joseph, was the beginning of the nation of Great Britain. And he affirmed that Manasseh, son of Joseph, was the beginning of the people that became the United States of America. A special thanks goes to Bonnie and Prentice Orswell, Laila Patterson and Nancy Spaller for producing the transcripts. Remaining Steadfast #1 Repentance & Resignation Repentance and Resignation Day of Atonement—1979 Fred R.
