The last two years under Coach Sanchez, the Alma Mater: 49ers have signed the top-ranked recruiting SUNY Oneonta , 1997 class in Conference USA. In 2020, Sanchez was (Bachelor’s - Education) a finalist for the Ben Jobe National Coach of Indiana, 2002 the Year Award, which is presented annually to (Master’s - Athletic Admin./Sports Management) the top minority coach at the Division I level by CollegeInsider.com. During his time at Virginia, the Cava- liers won 212 games, three ACC regular-season titles and two ACC Tour- nament titles, while making six appearances in the NCAA Tournament and COACH RON SANCHEZ one NIT Appearance. The Cavaliers earned an NCAA tournament number one seed, three times YEAR-BY-YEAR RECORD while he was at Virginia. ESPN Insider listed Sanchez among the top recruiters in the nation. YEAR OVERALL CONFERENCE In the 2017-18 season, Sanchez played a major role in helping Virginia reach number one in the national polls while winning a then school-record 31 games. 2018-19 8-21 5-13 Before his time on the coaching staff at Virginia, Sanchez was an assistant coach at Washington State. 2019-20 16-13 10-8 While at Washington State, the Cougars played in the NCAA Tournament twice and the NIT once. In Totals 24-34 15-21 2006-07 and 2007-08, the Cougars tied the school-record with 26 wins. In 2008, the Cougars reached the Sweet 16 and played in Charlotte’s Spectrum Center. He played a major role in the recruitment of NBA All-Star and former Washington State standout Klay Thompson. Prior to becoming an assistant coach at Washington State, he spent three seasons as the program’s director of basketball operations from 2003-06. Prior to those three years, he spent two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Indiana while in graduate school During his two seasons at Indiana, the Hoosiers reached the NCAA Tournament Championship game in 2002. Sanchez began his coaching career as an assistant coach at his alma mater, SUNY Oneonta, for the 1998-99 season. Then, he was the associate head coach at Delhi College (N.Y.) for two years (1999-01). In the 2000-01 season, Delhi won 31 games, captured the Region III championship and finished fourth in the National Junior College Athletic Association Championship Tournament.

INTERNATIONAL COACHING EXPERIENCE Not only has he enjoyed success as a college basketball coach but in the summer of 2013, Sanchez was an assistant coach for the Dominican Republic National Team, which finished fourth at the FIBA Americas Championship to qualify for the 2014 FIBA World Championships for the first time since 1978.

PLAYING CAREER Sanchez starred on the basketball team at SUNY Oneonta for four years. He earned State University of New York Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship Most Valuable Player honors and was a two-time All-Conference selection during his career. As a senior, he scored 621 points while leading the Red Dragons to the ECAC Upstate New York title. In his career, Sanchez scored 1,264 points and grabbed 518 rebounds. In 2007, Sanchez was inducted into the SUNY Oneonta Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Academy Games featured prospects from the NBA Academies in Australia, China, India, Mexico, Senegal, along with select teams of other top international prospects. • In December of 2018 and 2019, he played for the NBA Academies select team in the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas. • In February of 2019, he participated in the prestigious Basketball Without Borders Global Camp in Charlotte during the NBA All- Star game weekend. • In April 2019, he participated in the NCAA’s Next Generation Sunday event at the Final Four, where he played in exhibition games against his peers from around the world while experiencing aspects of the Final Four from a player’s perspective. He was part of the NBA Academy team that scrimmaged against the ’ junior national team during the Final Four weekend as well. • January 2020, Khalifa was part of the NBA Academy Select team that won the prestigious Torneo Junior Ciutat de L’Hospitalet in Barcelona.
