LOCATION: Stainton Quarry, Long Lane, Stainton with Adgarley, Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, LA13 0NN _____________________________________________________________________ 1.0 RECOMMENDATION 1.1 That planning permission is Granted for the reasons stated in Appendix 1 and subject to the conditions in Appendix 2. 2.0 THE PROPOSAL 2.1 This application seeks planning permission to extend the time limit for the extraction of high purity limestone from the deep extension area of Stainton Quarry for a further ten years until 31 March 2025, and thereby delay restoration of this area until 31 March 2026. 3.0 CONSULTATIONS AND REPRESENTATIONS 3.1 South Lakeland District Council’s Planning Department reports that it has no comments to make as regards the application. 3.2 Urswick Parish Council has no objections or comments. Dalton with Newtown Parish Council were also consulted however no reply had been received when this report was prepared. In the event a reply is received in advance of Committee this will be reported to Members on the update sheet. N.B. Dalton with Newton’s Parish boundary is in close proximity to the western boundary of the quarry and the deepening is located within the western side of the quarry.
