Welcome Presidents Message

Match Day Program On behalf of the Comets Football Club I would like to welcome everyone to tonight's games Friday 10th June 2016 (Round 14) against West Adelaide at the SA Athletics Stadium for SA Athletics Stadium 8:00pm Round 14. Tonight’s Senior game will be a tough battle I have no doubt as every week is a big challenge. The team has bounced back after a heavy loss to Metro in round 12, with a good result in the FFA Cup v Blue Ea- gles and last Saturday v Croydon.

Although we still have injuries the test will be on the depth of our players and for some young talent to have their opportunity. I would like to wish Senior coach Theo Tsiounis and Reserve’s coach John Falidis and their support staff and all our players the very best for tonight’s games.

The team has had one of its best starts to a season and it is important to treat every game of utmost importance. We look forward to a great game of football. I would like to wish our Under 18 coach Tony Galanopoulos and his team the very best in tomorrow’s clash back here at SA Athletics Stadium at 11am.

With the support of our Committees, Sponsors and members we are proud to deliver a professional venue in SA Athletics Stadium for all Senior League teams and I would like all our Sponsors and supporters to enjoy our facilities and vocally encourage and support our players today. A special thank you to all our helpers who have worked so hard to make today’s games possible.

If you would like to purchase tickets to our Quiz Night on June 25 please go to our website www.adelaidecomets.com.au for more information.

I would like to wish everyone an enjoyable evening and look forward to seeing you in the function room after the game for presentations and nibbles.

ADELAIDE COMETS Yours in sport, Jim Tsouvalas v Club President WEST ADELAIDE

Comets Senior Squad Seniors From Senior Coach: Theo Tsiounis

I would like to welcome you all tonight to SA Athletics Stadium for another entertaining football encounter. We have just entered the second half of the season and still very little separates first from last. It has typically been a season where any game could swing either way as proved by the results this season. Last weeks game against Croydon was another close encounter. After taking an early lead in the game, Croydon bounced back immediately through a cross that was deflected into the bottom corner. Croydon then managed to get on top for most the second half be- fore Balomenos got on the end of a Kostopoulos cross giving us the lead heading into the half time break. The second half was similar with Croy- don equalising early in half before Kostopoulos putting the ball in the back of the net after a scramble in the box.

During the midway point of the season we have seen some players move on and others come into the club. I would like to welcome Guy Miller who joins the Adelaide Comets from South Adelaide for the remainder of the season. At only 18 years of age Guy brings with some different quali- ties which will complement the squad. I would also like to welcome back although in a slightly different capacity Lucas Andrucci who joins the coaching ranks and will see him work closely with the senior goal keepers and oversee their performances and progress.

On behalf of our players and staff, and our Adelaide Comets Football Club, I thank you for your support and continue to wish all our teams suc- cess for the rest of the season.

Regards, Theo
