On the way visit Rock Garden of Chandigarh is a Sculpture garden in Chandigarh, also known as Nek Chand's Rock Garden after its founder Nek Chand, a government official who started the garden secretly in his spare time in 1957. Today it is spread over an area of forty-acres (160,000 m²). It consists of man-made interlinked waterfalls, it is completely built of industrial & home waste and throw-away items. Later check in to the hotel booked previously for your comfortable stay in the city. Overnight stay in Hotel at Chandigarh. Day 2 : Chandigarh – Manali (Approx 300kms) ( Meal Plan : Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner ) Morning after breakfast proceed to Manali. Kullu and Manali are Himachal's most popular tourist valley resorts. Located on the banks of the Beas river, Kullu is also known as the 'Valley of God's' as it is the official home of the presiding deity of the area, Lord Raghunathji. Kullu is a broad open valley formed by the Beas river between Manali and Largi. This valley is famous for its beauty and its majestic hills covered with Pine and Deodar Forest and sprawling Apple Orchards. 1 / 5 Manali is situated 40 kms from Kullu. Late evening Check into Hotel. Overnight stay in Hotel at Manali. Day 3 : In Manali ( Meal Plan : Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner ) Early Morning with packed breakfast proceed for local sightseeing. Enjoy spectacular drive towards Rohtang snow point. Free time to play and enjoy in the snow. Please Note: Rohtang pass is 51 kms away from Manali. This Pass is not accessible for almost 8 months in a year as it is covered by snow. We generally visit the snow point on Rohtang road, which has been permitted by the Border Security Force. After lunch visit Hadimba Temple is an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hidimbi Devi, who was a character in the Indian epic, Mahabharata. The temple is surrounded by a cedar forest at the foot of the Himalayas. The structure was built in 1553. Vashist, a small village located on the left bank of river Beas towards Rohtang pass is worth a visit. It is renowned for its hot springs and temples. Nearby is the pyramidal stone temple dedicated to Vashist Muni. There is another Temple of Lord Ram here. Natural hot sulphur springs with two separate bathing tanks for gents and ladies are always full of tourists. Turkish style showers fitted baths have also been built nearby. Hot water from the nearby spring is provided for bathing. Overnight stay in Hotel at Manali. Day 4 : Manali – Shimla(Approx 260 Kms) ( Meal Plan : Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner ) Morning after breakfast proceeds to Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh. Evening Check into Hotel. Overnight stay in Hotel at Shimla. Day 5 : In Shimla ( Meal Plan : Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner ) Morning after breakfast proceed for local sightseeing. Kufri is a small hill station in Shimla. It is located 13 km from the state capital Shimla on the National Highway No.22.The name Kufri is derived from the word "Kufr" meaning a lake in the local language. One can have a pony ride through snows in winter season. After Lunch explore Mall Road. Mall Road is the main street in Shimla, Constructed during British colonial rule. The offices of municipal Corporation, fire Service, and Police headquarters are located here. Automobiles, except emergency vehicles are not allowed on this road. For this reason, the locals — and tourists — are often found strolling on this road in the evenings. Mall road has a number of showrooms, department stores, shops, restaurants and cafes. A Himachal emporium that offers handicraft products of Himachal Pradesh like locally designed woollen cloths, branded cloths, pottery items, and jewellery is also located here. Overnight stay in Hotel at Shimla. Day 6 : Shimla- Delhi (Approx 350 Kms) ( Meal Plan : Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner ) Morning after breakfast proceed to Delhi. On the way visit Pinjore Garden and Kurukshetra. Pinjore Gardens is located in Pinjore, Panchkula District of Haryana. It is an example of the Mughal Gardens style, and was built by Patiala Dynasty Rulers. It is also known as Yadavindra Gardens. It covers a total area of 100 acres. It is believed that it is over here that Pandava brothers had rested during their exile. The seven terraces at Pinjore, instead of ascending, descend into the distance. It was built by Nawab Fadai Khan. Kurukshetra, is best known as the place where the great battle of the Mahabharata was fought and Lord Krishna spoke the Bhagavad-gita. But long before that, Kurukshetra had played a dominant role in the history and culture of ancient India. For thousands of years it was a hub around which the Vedic civilization spun in its full glory. Continue the journey to Delhi. Overnight stay in Hotel at Delhi. In that case, money paid by the tour participant will be fully refunded but no compensation claim will be entertained. Visiting Snow Point is subject to the availability and weather conditions. Due to certain unavoidable circumstances, the Company reserves the right to change / modify / vary and alter the tour itinerary if it becomes necessary. In such changes, compensations or claiming of refunds by the tourist will not be entertained by the Company for limitation and also for the non-availability of certain services including museums, restaurants, sightseeing shopping etc. even though included in tour itinerary. For Single passenger, without family, you will share a room either on twin or triple sharing basis (Roll away bed) depending on the booking. If we do not have a single person like you, then you will have to take the single supplement with an additional cost. The tariff of the tour quoted is calculated as per the rates prevailing at the time of quoting it. The Company reserves the right to change the tariff in the event of modification / alteration / change/ variation in the said rates before the date of departure. Tour tariff is based on departure from Cochin, unless specifically mentioned. Tourists boarding flights at places other than Cochin have to pay the entire airfare difference and bear and pay any other additional expenses including airport transfers, hotel stay etc. on that account. Tour cost is based on minimum 30 passengers travelling together in the group. If there is a drastic fall in the number, then the offered meal plan, vehicle and other services may change accordingly. No refund can be entertained for any expenses incurred by the passengers due to circumstances beyond our control such as flight cancellation, airport closure, delays, accident of any nature, bad weather, natural calamities, medical evacuation, supplier policies, visa rejection and visa delay etc.

    Haryana Tourism Press Release 5th July, 2014 Mango Mela at Pinjore Gardens gets off to a rocking start The two-day Mango Mela at Pinjore Gardens began on Saturday on a colourful note. An annual event, this Mela is hosted by Haryana Tourism jointly in collaboration with Horticulture Department, Haryana. Every corner of Pinjore Gardens wore a festive look, as cut-outs and props of flowers, bees, butterflies and rainbows adorned the Mela. Drapes in hues of yellow and green on the arches of the royal Mughal Gardens lent perfect setting to the Mela. Smt. Sumita Misra, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism Corporation, informed this time special efforts have been made to create an eye-catching ambience with elements from nature and colours of raw mango lending a vibrant look to the Mela. New competitions and attractions have also been added to make the Mela more enjoyable. The Mela came to life with number of competitions and activities being held for the first time like Baby Show and Mango Story Writing. The Baby Show had kids competing in three categories divided in the age group of 6 months-1 year, 1 year to 2 years & 2 years to 3 years. Mango Story Writing that was open for all saw a stupendous response and so did the Face Painting competition that had over 20 schools participating. About 40 schools took part in the solo dance competition that spelled entertainment for all, as it set the stage rocking. The performance of Been Sapera and Jangam dancers of North Zone Culture Centre, Patiala further added to the charm of the Mela.

    LOKAYUKTA HARYANA ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2018-2019 (01.04.2018 TO 31.03.2019) After I had taken oath as Lokayukta of Haryana on 19th July, 2016, this is my 3rd Annual Report on the functioning of Lokayukta Institution for the aforesaid period under report being submitted to the Hon’ble Governor of Haryana as required under Section 17 (3) of the Haryana Lokayukta Act, 2002. Lokayuktas have been unearthing corruption cases, recommending measures to redress grievances of the people and above all, acting as a much needed safety valve to release the bottled up pressure of aggrieved citizens, which, if allowed to accumulate, would put a question mark on the credibility of our administrative apparatus. The very existence of a Lokayukta helps to generate a feeling of assurance among the public at large, that they have a mechanism to fall back upon when faced with corrupt public servants. Lokayukta investigates cases of corruption, where substantiated, recommend action. It is a great check on corruption, brings about transparency in the system, and makes administrative machinery citizen friendly. His functions largely depend upon jurisdiction vested in him and facilities provided 2 for taking cognizance of citizens’ grievances promptly, deftly and expeditiously through simple, informal mechanism devoid of technicalities. Corruption is internationally recognized a major problem, capable of endangering stability and security of society, threatening social, economic and political development and undermining the values of democracy and morality. It has assumed alarming proportions resultantly public funds going into private hands leading to enrichment of bribe givers and bribe takers. Corruption, inefficiency, delays and insensitivity to people’s grievances can be identified key problems besetting the nation.
