Absorption of labor in the agricultural sector in Riau Province in 2019 was around 31.9 %, down from the previous year which reached 55.3 %. The agricultural sector has a high contribution to GDP (in economic terms) in Riau Province. The results of rice production from agricultural activities can affect vulnerability to food security in a province. The research objective is to examine the employment of agricultural sector workers and rice production in Riau Province in 2010-2018. The data used are institutional data. The method used in this research is descriptive with quantitative data support. Generally, in Riau Province, regencies classified as high in human resources (labor) sector A are Indragiri Hilir Regency and Rokan Hilir Regency which produce large amounts of rice production. Regencies that are classified as high in the number of workers are Kampar and Rokan Hulu, but rice production is still relatively low, due to not optimal productivity. DIREKTORAT JENDERAL PENGUATAN DAYA SAING PRODUK KELAUTAN DAN PERIKANAN KEMENTERIAN KELAUTAN DAN PERIKANAN 2018 KATA PENGANTAR Puji syukur kehadirat Tuhan Yang Maha Esa atas segala rahmat-Nya sehingga buku ini dapat tersusun dengan baik. Penyusunan Profil Potensi Usaha dan Peluang Investasi Kelautan dan Perikanan bertujuan untuk: 1) Menyediakan data dan informasi potensi usaha dan peluang investasi Provinsi Sumatera Barat kepada stakeholders dan calon investor; 2) Referensi dan pertimbangan dalam memutuskan investasi di sektor kelautan dan perikanan serta percepatan industri kelautan dan perikanan; serta 3) Mempromosikan potensi usaha dan peluang investasi sektor kelautan dan perikanan, baik hulu dan hilir menurut lokasi (Provinsi dan Kabupaten/ Kota), komoditas/produk maupun bidang usaha. Profil Potensi Usaha dan Peluang Investasi Kelautan dan Perikanan berisi data dan informasi usaha kelautan dan perikanan layak investasi, potensi dan pemanfaatan perikanan, infrastruktur pendukung investasi, spesifikasi teknis bidang usaha, kemudahan investasi serta kontak hubung daerah. Ucapan terima kasih kami sampaikan kepada semua pihak yang telah berpartisipasi, baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung hingga terselesaikannya buku ini. Analysis of Character Value in the Batobo Tradition in the Kuantan Singingi Community, Riau
ANALYSIS OF CHARACTER VALUE IN THE BATOBO TRADITION IN THE KUANTAN SINGINGI COMMUNITY, RIAU HENDRI MARHADI, ERLISNAWATI Riau University [email protected] Abstract Batobo is a tradition of agricultural process in paddy’s cultivation that exist among Kuantan Singingi people in Riau Province. The tradition is passed from generation to generation and still preserved today. This study aims to analyze the character values contained in the batobo tradition. There are folk art performances, dances, and music in a form of traditional festival in the tradition. This study aims to analyze the character values contained in Batobo tradition. This study uses literature review from various sources relevant to the research. We can conclude that there are some characters identified from the tradition such as mutual cooperation, sharing culture, social care, responsibility and discipline values. These characteristic is visible on the daily life of Kuantan Singingi community which is used as a guide in behavior. The values also work as a social tool especially in accelerating and motivating people on the agricultural production. Keywords: Character Value, Batobo Tradition INTRODUCTION Kuantan Singingi Regency with the capital city of Teluk Kuantan is one of the regencies in Riau Province. Kuantan Singingi Regency is a division of Indragiri Hulu Regency which was formed under Law No.53 of 1999. Kuantan Singingi Regency with an area of ± 7,656.03 퐾푀2 is located at 0°00 North Latitude - 1°00 South Latitude, 101 ° South Latitude, 101°02 - 100°55 East Longitude with distance from sea level 120 KM and height around 25-30 meters from sea level (Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, 2006). -

The current MMR in Indonesia is 126/100,000 live births. Optimum use of available healthcare facilities for delivery can avert maternal deaths. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with healthcare facility utilization for childbirth in Kuantan Singingi regency, Riau province, Indonesia 2017. Methods: We conducted a community-based cross-sectional study in 15 sub-districts of Kuantan Singingi regency from May–June 2017. We selected 320 mothers from 15 sub-districts who delivered in the last 3 months (February– April 2017). Trained data enumerators collected the relevant data by using a pre-tested semi-structured questionnaire. We used Cox regression analysis to determine the factors associated with delivery at healthcare facilities. Prevalence Ratio (PR) with a 95% confidence interval (CI) for childbirth at healthcare facilities was the key outcome measure. Results: Only 54.4% (174) of the 320 mothers delivered at healthcare facilities. Knowledge about pregnancy danger signs (PR = 1.59, 95%CI:1.15–2.2), attitude towards healthcare services (PR = 0.79, 95%CI:0.33–1.89), and access to health care services (PR = 0.39, 95%CI:0.18–0.84) were the dominant factors of childbirth at healthcare facilities. -

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan efisiensi reproduksi, dinamika populasi, natural increase dan estimasi output populasi sapi Kuantan di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi, Provinsi Riau, Indonesia. Penelitian menggunakan 311 ekor sapi Kuantan dan 99 orang peternak sapi Kuantan. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan metode survey dan pengamatan langsung, data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Parameter yang diukur adalah efisiensi reproduksi, natural increase, estimasi output dan dinamika populasi sapi Kuantan. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa efisiensi reproduksi sapi Kuantan adalah 1.04 %, natural increase 5.14%, imbangan jantan dan betina 1:5, nilai NRR jantan 50% dan NRR betina 100.56 %, total ternak yang keluar 18.69 % dan total ternak yang masuk 18.69%, nilai output 48.88 % dan estimasi dinamika populasi 2.85%. -

CACAO CATALOGUE ABOUT Yayasan Bersama Lestarikan Nusantara (“Yayasan Belantara”) is an Indonesian grant-making institution formed in 2014 with the goal of delivering wide-ranging community and conservation results. It takes its name from the Indonesian word ‘Belantara’ which means wilderness or pristine forest. Belantara primary focus is to allocate grants to support restoration, protection, conservation of endangered species (specifically Sumatran Tiger, Sumatran Elephant, as well as Sumatran and Bornean Orangutan), Institutional development, and community development and empowerment initiatives in Conservation Area, Production Forest, Protection Forest, and Social Forestry on the ten specified grant distribution areas across five provinces on the islands of Sumatra and Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo). Working with local communities, governments, the private sector and NGOs, Belantara relies on a multi-stakeholder approach to better inform decision-making when addressing resource management problems. As the Essential Ecosystem Areas (KEE) stretch across the grant distribution areas, a coordinated response between all stakeholders for the effective management and preservation of critical ecosystems is required. As an independent foundation, Belantara aims to work with all parties that shares its goals, coordinating and collaborating with partner projects within each of its ten specified grant distribution areas. Belantara aims to ensure that existing initiatives are aligned, minimizing the risk of projects overlapping while maximizing information and data sharing. Co-founder Asia Pulp and Paper significantly contributed in getting the Foundation off the ground, providing substantial financing. Additional financial resources are being raised from the public and private sectors, while investment de-risking initiatives will follow to achieve a more holistic scope of financing modalities. -

Historically, boundary conflicts that occurred in five villages in the Kampar and Rokan Hulu Regencies, occurred in 1999 during the division of Rokan Hulu Regency from Kampar District (Law No. 53 of 1999), but in 1999 conflicts over five villages this is still not visible in society. The conflict began to emerge amid the community in 2005, namely the issuance of the Riau Governor's Regulation Number 30 of 2005 which contained the affirmation of the status of the administrative areas of the five villages included in the administrative area of Kampar Regency. The border conflict between Kampar Regency and Rokan Hulu Regency has a positive and negative impact on village development. The positive impact was that the five villages received funding from the two districts while the negative impact made the five villages feel confused. In addition, negative impacts were also felt in the development of education, health, and politics in five villages.
