For the purposes of this report, Campus Recreation focused on participation as our main indicator of success. A large part of this year’s success can be attributed to the addition of staff and financial support. We have used these resources to better serve and support our students and this is demonstrated through the growth in both participation and programs offered. While we have seen achievement throughout all areas, the following bullets are some of our most notable highlights from this past year. Intramural Sports has seen a dramatic increase in participation over the past three years rising from 3,500 participants to nearly 6,000 this year. The number of Sport Clubs grew 46%, expanding from 24 clubs to 35. The Outdoor Adventure Program set a record with 388 students participating in 37 different local, regional, and national trips. The Free Wheelers Bicycle Share was recognized by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation with their Pinnacle Award for encouraging sustainable commuter options. Campus Recreation employed over 270 part time student and professional staff members. Ninety percent were trained in CPR/AED & First Aid. A student safety team was created to help train all 34 student supervisors in emergency response. Safety team members tested supervisors with mock emergency situations that tested CPR/AED and First Aid skills. In collaboration with the Wellness Center, Campus Recreation piloted an Exercise is Medicine Program. The Wellness Center identified students that would most benefit from increased exercise and provided these students with prescriptions for free personal training. The program has evolved into an internship opportunity for Exercise Physiology students which will make this program financially sustainable and allow more students to be referred in 2015-2016. 5 participation Breakdown FALL 2014 programs 2,867 5,917 total PARTICIPAnts 3,050 Spring 2015 939 376 FALL 2014 total TEAMS Spring 2015 REGISTERED 563 INTRAMURAL sports 909 FALL 2014 1,840 total GAMES Spring 2015 PLAYED 931 ParTICIPATION TOTAL TEAMS 5,012 18% 869 8% 20 tournaments 5,917 939 37 15 lEAGUES total PROGRAMS OFFERED 2 Races 7 PARTICIPATION BREAKDOWN TOTAL UNIQUE programs 735participants 695participants 48% club sports Ice Skating Women’s Ice Hockey Ballroom Dance 497 - 735participation Tennis Men’s Ice Hockey Cheerleading Volleyball Women’s Lacrosse Dance Quidditch Men’s Lacrosse Steppin’ in Unity Golf Men’s Rugby Breakers ParTICIPATION ClUBS Field Hockey Women’s Rugby Urban Choreography Cricket Men’s Soccer Rowing Women’s Soccer 497 24 Billiards Underwater Hockey 48% 46% Racquetball Men’s Basketball Track and Field Women’s Basketball Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 735 35 Badminton Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Shotokan Karate Baseball Men’s Ultimate Frisbee Swim SWIM LESSON OVERVIEW 9 Participation Breakdown programs 888 8,200 9,088 662 121 541 7.3 15.2 MUSCULAR CONDITIONING CARDIOVASCULAR Ignite Strength Piloxing Kickboxing Insanity Abs Butt & Core Bootcamp aROWbics Tabata Row & Flow Pound MIND & BODY Ignite Cardio Spin ZUMBA Yoga Beginner Yoga Power Yoga Pilates Vinyasa Yoga GROUP FITNESS MOST POPULAR CLASSES Riverview RIVERVIEW CLASSES ParTICIPATION 13 146 121 888 26.1/class 27.0/class 22.9/class zumba HATHA YOGA Power Yoga ABS BUTT/CORE insanity 11 Participation Breakdown programs FACULty/staff 361 CLIENT SESSIONS STUDENTS 620 FACULty/staff 10 NEW CLIENTS STUDENTS 34 PERSONAL TRAINING Campus Recreation offers the following personal training options: REFERAls PARTICIPANTS INDIVIDUAL PACKAGES 10 Counseling services CLIENT SESSIONS 3 HEALTH SERVICES PARTNER PACKAGES 1 campus recreation COMPREHENSIVE FITNESS EVALUATION BODY COMPOSITION TESTS 13 paRTICIPATION bREAKDOWN 325 fall pROgrams 117 Healthy Habit programs 51 NFL Combine 16 Intro to Weightlifting 10 Ask the Trainer Q&A 8 Info Session to become Fitness Instructor 73 GFIT Results & Rewards Program 50 GFIT Kickoff Event 176 SPRING pROgrams 35 Women Crush Weights 12 Commit to be Fit 70 Sunset Zumba WELLNESS programs 43 GFIT Results & Rewards Program 7 GFIT Instructor Workshop 9 Couch to 5k 7 FITNESS 6 WELLNESS 15 tripS BREAKDOWN programs mojave desert Mount Watatic, MA Nashoba Valley, MA Ripley Falls, NH New Ipswich, NH Eastern Trail, ME national preserve, ca Cape Cod, MA Auburn, MA Cannon Mountain, NH Loon Mountain, NH Acadia, ME Suwanee River, FL Deerfield River, MA Carlisle, MA Welch Dickey Loop, NH Keene, NH Sugarloaf, ME Merrimack River, MA Mount Tom, MA Hampton, NH (2) Pack Monadnock, NH Narragansett, RI OUTDOOR ADVENTURE PROGRAM Ipswich, MA Concord River, MA Rumney, NH White Mountains, NH Connecticut River, VT Westport, MA Orange, MA Mt.
