Wildwood Getaway Family Usage Guidelines We are excited to welcome you to Wildwood! During your visit we hope you will enjoy the natural world and relax in beautiful New Hampshire. During the getaway’s we use our site as a campground. Please understand this is not the same as our traditional Family Camp program. We will not be providing our usual Family Camp activities, instruction, meals, etc. We will only be opening the waterfront for boating and swimming. Please note that Wildwood is a wildlife sanctuary. Please leave all forms of wildlife undisturbed. Be considerate of your neighbor's right to quiet and harmony. As a reminder, COVID-19 is still a threat to the health and safety of everyone onsite. We consider all of you family and trust you to use your best judgment to keep yourself, your family and all others on site safe. We ask that you respect one another and continue to follow physical distancing between families. You are responsible for the well-being of those in your group and those at Wildwood in general. Upon Arrival: • Please enter Wildwood at 27 Vining Road Entrance (not the entrance with the big Wildwood Sign, just past it). There is a small sign that says “Main Office” and it’s across from 462 Old New Ipswich Road. • Stop by the office and check in on the bulletin board on the wall. Leave your signed waiver in the envelope if no one is at the office to greet you. If you need anything text us (numbers below). You may go directly to your unit to settle in and RELAX! Parameters for staying at Wildwood 1. COVID FREE - Families must attest to everyone in their family being COVID Free upon arrival. If anyone in your family presents COVID symptoms, please remain home. 2. Mask / Face coverings: Each family member should carry with them a face covering for use when in the presence of other families around camp. 3. Families are assigned a specific unit. There will be one family per unit unless otherwise requested. Please do not enter cabins/units that are not yours without an invitation. 4. All common spaces will be locked, such as the dining hall and health center. 5. The Arts & Crafts Covered Pavilion will be available for use. 6. One vehicle may be parked at units (when possible). Other cars can park at the office or other nearest parking area. Roads must be kept clear for emergency vehicles. 7. Shower House: Each Unit (Carson, Leopold, etc) will have an assigned shower in the shower house; please only use your assigned unit name shower on the male and female sides, each 1 stall is labelled with the Unit name. Toilets or porta johns and sinks are stationed in each unit for individual family use. 8. Waterfront: Swimming is only allowed when the lifeguard is on duty in the mornings and afternoons. Boating with Wildwood equipment is also only allowed when the lifeguard is on duty. Personal watercraft brought from home may be used at any time. Wildwood is not responsible for your personal equipment or its loss or damage. The restrooms and changing rooms at the waterfront will be open. 9. Smoking is only allowed in the main parking lot on the gravel. There is a can at the end of the driveway near the Vining road sign. Please dispose of cigarette butts properly. No smoking in units, waterfront or anywhere on camp besides the main parking lot. 10. Wildwood is a drug free environment. Marijuana is not legal in the state of New Hampshire; please leave all recreational drugs at home. 11. Alcohol is only allowed in the cabin units. Rules / Expectations 1. Your enjoyment and safety is our main concern. Enjoy, relax and have a wonderful time! 2. We expect families to maintain 6 feet social distance from other families. When physical distancing is not possible, please ensure all participants are wearing a mask. 3. Monitor your children: Parents/guardians are responsible for their children and their safety and well-being at all times. 4. Visitors: Day/night visitors are not allowed. Only registered guests are permitted at the camp. 5. Vehicles must be parked in the parking lots or at designated area near the unit. Our main road must stay clear at all times for emergency vehicle access 6. Pets are not allowed. 7. Bicycle riding on the nature trails is prohibited. (It is allowed on the roads.) 8. Quiet Hours: 10 pm to 7 am. Please be respectful of others. 9. You must leave your campsite clean and ready for the next visitors when you leave. 10. Adults will be held responsible and must pay for any damage to property, facilities etc. caused by themselves or their children. 11. Check in after 1:00 pm. Check out is 11:00 am, however please check in with us, you may be able to stay longer in your unit if no one is arriving on the same day. You are welcome to continue to stay on the property the day of your check out until the waterfront closes. Campsite 1. Water is available in each unit by using the sink spigot and all water on camp is potable. 2. Please abide by our local fire permit rules. Fires must be less than 1.5 feet high. 3. Never leave your fire unattended. 4. There is no access to refrigeration or ice onsite. 5. All fires must be extinguished with water. Metal watering cans are available in each unit. 6. Wood will be provided by donation. No burning of trash, containers or unauthorized wood. If you run out of wood you can find more on the porch of the office. We highly encourage using sticks and other fallen wood right around your camp site. 7. No Fireworks: Firecrackers, sparklers and pyrotechnic devices are not permitted. 2 8. All food must be in stored sealed containers inside the cabin or vehicle to avoid bears and other animals. 9. Empty cabin trash into the outside metal trash can. Keep lid on trash can at all times. This will be emptied by Wildwood staff. Except in an emergency or to make an urgent repair, this is the only reason staff will enter a unit while you are here. 10. Families will be expected to sweep out cabins and tents, tidy up the outside, and put all trash into the metal trash can. Wildwood will disinfect after your departure to prepare for the next family. 11. The front gate will be closed at 8 pm each night. Please open and close it if you need to enter or exit the camp after 8. 12. FIRE IS OUR MAJOR HAZARD. Do not use firepit in strong wind; attend it constantly; douse coals with water. Keep the water container filled at all times. No candles allowed in cabins or tents. (Citronella candles in metal containers outside are permitted). Smoking is only allowed in the parking lot. Waterfront 1. The waterfront is open daily from 10 am – 12 pm and 2 -5 pm for swimming, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Families may relax on the beach at any time, but we ask that you do not swim without a lifeguard present. 2. Each family will be given lifejackets and a location to store them for your time at camp. Families are welcome to bring their own lifejackets (Coast Guard approved) if desired. 3. Walk on docks only as you enter / exit the water. When the lifeguard is present, please refrain from standing on docks other than entering the water. 4. Children are not allowed on the waterfront without supervision by someone over the age of 18. 5. No glass or alcohol is allowed at the waterfront. Alcohol is only allowed in the units. 6. No vehicles are allowed to be driven down to the waterfront unless given permission. Please contact staff for assistance. 7. Diving is prohibited off the docks, because the pond is too shallow. 8. Boats and paddles will be disinfected after use. 9. Storms - If there is thunder or lighting the waterfront will be closed. It will be reopened when there has been no thunder or lightening for at least 30 minutes. Please note: Lifeguards will not wear face coverings on the docks, as recommended in protocols from the American Red Cross. Seconds count when it comes to saving a life. WIFI WIFI is available at the dining hall / beach area and around the office and Hemlock building.
