To whom it may concern -

I am now retired, a resident of Aspen and at the point in my life where I sincerely want to make a contribution to the city I love. I think my personal and business background has given me some unique insights and skills that would help in that task.

I spent the larger part of my life as an airline captain for both Trans World (TWA) and American Airlines (AA). Most of those years I spent as an instructor for all cockpit positions in our aircraft (B727, B707, DC9, MD80, L1011, B757, B767). As an instructor, you learn a great deal about people and making rational and timely decisions. You especially learn to avoid making bad decisions.

A few years before I retired, I was selected by the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA) to represent the employees and shareholders on the BOD of TWA. I was a voting member of the TWA Board of Directors and I was told that I was one of only 30 previous employee board members of public corporations, others being US Steel, Delta Airlines, etc. This particular experience gave me insight from the top of a powerful and important labor union, the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA) and the inside of corporate decision making of a $3 Billion plus revenue company.

In the mid-1990's, I was also a Vice-President of the T.O. Richardson, an investment advisory firm headquartered in Connecticut.

I have had a Real Estate Brokers License for 50 years and helped operate a successful real estate development business during that same period. I understand the underpinnings of value, commitment, what’s important to a timely decision and making that decision.

Thanks.

Respectfully,

Brent Miller 625 E. Main St. - #102B/265 Aspen, CO 81611 (310) 922-2736

BRENT S. MILLER 625 East Main Street - #102B/265 Aspen, Colorado 81611 (310) 922-2736 Email: [email protected]

I strongly believe that public health by definition is everyone’s concern. Of all public boards, I feel the most connection with this one. During my working life, I have been a manager and supervised many projects including airline task forces, direct management of personnel, real estate purchases and developments. In the years past, I have participated in Challenge Aspen and was a trustee of the original Camp Good Times, which later became part of Camp Ronald McDonald. I have spent my working life both in management and within a union. This unique experience has given me a perspective that frequently allows me to better understand the various sides of complex issues. Aspen is my home and I want to contribute to it’s future.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

1966 – 2002 Employed by Trans World and later, American Airlines. Held various operational (flight) positions and was qualified and certified as a Federal Aviation Agency Check Airman/Line Instructor for over 20 years, supervising, instructing and checking on almost every aircraft operated by TWA. I was also an active member of the Airline Pilot’s Association Safety Committee and a member of the Accident Investigation Team.

I received the TWA Award of Excellence, represented my company in a television commercial and had a minor role as an airline captain in an internationally syndicated movie for television. In the years just prior to my retirement, I was elected to the TWA Board of Directors.

During my airline career, I helped establish, together with brother, the Westhill Management Company. Westhill currently owns and operates various commercial and multi-family residential properties in Southern California and a number of other states. I have been a licensed California Real Estate Broker for over 50 years.

Additionally, I was a Vice-President and Investment Adviser Representative for the T. O. Richardson Company of Farmington, Connecticut. I have held a Series 6, 63 and 65 National Association of Security Dealers Registrations
