Stephen Ward the Musical
by Zoey » Thu Nov 28, 2013 9:13 pm
Wasn't sure where to post this since it's only loosely Dusty-related. I'm sitting on my train home in London right now and infront of me is a poster of Stephen Ward the musical. I read the words 'scandal' and '1963' and put two and two together, as I haven't seen the film.
Thought I'd make a post about it because I've been travelling for hours and I'm bored...

Well Zoey, you will have heard Dusty singing "Nothing has been proved"from the film "Scandal". IMO the song is a very clever telling of the events in the case. Andrew Lloyd -Webber decided to make a musical based on Stephen Ward who some people think was made a scapecoat to protect John Profumo, who was the minister (of Defence,I think). When I heard that AL-W was writing this I thought what a strange subject to choose, but knowing his work it will probably be a hit . The truth in the saga will never really be known as the song says "the public and the press" got to Ward and he committed suicide
Enjoy your Christmas break. Last edited by pat.dunham on Fri Nov 29, 2013 2:48 pm, edited 1 time in total. I'd rather see the world the way it used to be...... I'm goin' back.

Thanks for the info, Pat. I never really looked into it before.
Sadly, I'm not on my Christmas break yet!

I always felt sorry for him too. In today's world he'd be a celebrity.
