Internationally based Jewellery and Fashion designers Jay Kamdar and Rick Young have been creating exquisite jewellery designs for approximately 10 years. The Golden Curl Image Awards recently recognized their contribution and dedication to the Fashion and Beauty Industry in 2004 by bestowing upon them a Lifetime Achievements Award. Having achieved this prestigious award they are further determined to continue their contributions to the fashion and beauty industry by Recognizing, Nominating and Crowning the World’s topmost individuals in the Industry. With their combined creative flare for jewellery, their expansion into fashion design seemed to be a logical progression. Their next venture, The Total Look Awards, an International Event; will take place in Bangkok, Thailand in November 2006. The Olympics of Fashion and Beauty will place participants from over 30 countries around the world in a competitive ring. This competition will include the five disciplines of the Fashion and Beauty Industry; Fashion – Hair – Make up – Jewellery – Accessories On Thursday, July 14, 2005, “The Total Look Awards” will be launched at the elegant Royal Ambassador Ballroom & Convention Centre and will be sure to be the Fashion event of the year. The evening that will start with cocktails, hors d’ oeuvres prelude to a gourmet dinner for 600 guests. Miss Universe 2005 – 2006, Natalie Glebova will be one of the celebrity guests at the two evening event. A Crowning After Party catering to approximately 800 guests will take place on Friday, July 15, 2005. Along with some of Canada’s top artists the competition will also feature contestants from Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago. This American Regional Event presenting contestants from North and South America will prelude the Semi­final competition to be held in Monaco and the Final competition to be held in Bangkok, Thailand in November 2006. Fashion Designers, Hair Stylists, Make­up Artists, Jewellery Designers and Accessories Creators will be given the opportunity to compete as a team and proudly represent their country while showcasing their unique and artistic imaginations to create the most personalized,” Total look”! As they say, “It’s not just about Image… It’s the Total Look!” During their journey towards the Total Look Awards Jay and Rick’s custom, one of a kind, jewellery and fashion designs have been key in their ability to outfit many influential and famous personalities. Latar Belakang Masalah Pembentukan dan penyebaran dunia baru imajinasi yang ditawarkan lewat jaringan media, seperti iklan televisi, mau tidak mau menjadi kebutuhan hidup yang diterima dan dihidupi oleh masyarakat. Bahkan semakin tidak bisa dihindarkan bahwa, aturan, nilai, dan cita rasa yang ditawarkan dalam dunia imajinasi menjadi hukum yang ditaati oleh dunia konkret manusia tersebut. Iklan sebagai salah satu perwujudan kebudayaan massa tidak hanya bertujuan menawarkan dan mempengaruhi calon konsumen untuk membeli barang atau jasa, tetapi juga ikut menciptakan nilai tertentu yang secara terpendam terdapat di dalam iklan tersebut. Jadi, iklan yang sehari-hari kita temukan diberbagai media massa cetak maupun elektronik dapat dikatakan bersifat simbolik. Artinya, iklan dapat menjadi simbol sejauh imaji yang ditampilkannya membentuk dan merefleksikan nilai hakiki. Featherstone menyatakan nilai dan tema klasifikasi gaya hidup konsumen yang diciptakan tanpa acuan dalam realitas seolah menjadi nyata, benar dan alamiah dalam iklan. Iklan telah ikut mendiktekan tema-tema citra semu atau citra pigura seperti stereotype sempit kecantikan ideal yang selalu digambarkan sebagai perempuan yang berkulit putih, berambut lurus dan panjang, berkaki jenjang serta langsing. Sementara yang tidak memiliki kriteria tersebut dinilai tidak termasuk kategori cantik (Featherstone dalam Setyawan, 2011: 4). Dari pernyataan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa media iklan dapat 1 mengkonstruksikan realitas kecantikan perempuan terhadap masyarakat. Iklan dapat memunculkan sistem nilai baru dan merubah sistem nilai yang sudah ada di masyarakat, iklan dapat menciptakan suatu sistem yang seragam secara keseluruhan. Standar ideal mengenai perempuan cantik pada era tahun 60-70 an adalah memiliki tubuh kurus, kulit hitam, dan rambut berombak. Tahun 80 an seorang perempuan cantik adalah sosok perempuan yang memiliki kulit halus dan lembut.

Snapshot of issues US $21.02 million has been approved in multi-year agreements (MYAs) for UNEP implementation of which there was a balance of US $9.83 million as at 31 December 2011. US $18.08 million was approved in activities for UNEP’s implementation in 2011 while administrative costs amounted to US $1.51 million (8.35 per cent). 145 MYAs are under implementation; less than 10 per cent of the funds approved have been disbursed for 24 MYAs (approved before the 64th meeting). Four projects were classified as projects with implementation delays that are subject to procedures for project cancellation.
