When science geek Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider, he was imbued with amazing abilities: the proportional strength and speed of a spider, adhesive fi ngertips and toes, and a precognitive awareness of danger called “spider-sense.” After inadvertently playing a part in the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter learned that with great power there must also come great responsibility, and now fi ghts crime as the web-slinging, wall-crawling wonder called... MARY JANE! THE RETURN OF Years ago, a mad scientist called the JACKAL cloned Peter Parker and created BEN REILLY, the original Scarlet Spider. Ben fought against him and for a time took up the mantle of the Amazing Spider-Man before sacrifi cing his life to save Peter’s. But his story didn’t end there. In an effort to perfect his cloning technology, the Jackal re-cloned and tortured Ben again and again. Ben snapped, freed himself, and took over as the Jackal, hoping to use the villain’s tech to save the world. Ben created the company New U. Claiming to deliver medical miracles, the company was really replacing ailing patients with near-perfect clones. One of these patients was an employee of Peter’s company, Parker Industries, named Jerry Salteres. Upon meeting the seemingly cured Jerry, Peter’s Spider-Sense went off, prompting him to investigate New U. There, he uncovered the dark truth: Ben has cloned nearly everyone who has died in Spider-Man’s life, from friends and loved ones like Gwen Stacy, Captain Stacy, and Jean DeWolff, to his worst enemies like Doctor Octopus and the Green Goblin, hoping to convince Peter to use Parker Industries’ reach to make New U global.

If you curl up tight enough, it can feel like midday already – like you’re in bed, at home, under a ceiling, and all the indignant screeching of the city is a whole window away. Sometimes, though, it’s just that bit harder to pull off. You pull yourself up, brushing a thin layer of snow from your coat. It’s gotten deeper overnight. You slept under a fire escape, which kept you mostly alright, but everything else is under maybe an inch more snow than yesterday. Soon alleys like this one will be too cold at night. You’ll have to chance a shelter, or find some dickwad’s unused shed or something. Neither option strikes you as particularly appealing, but the alternative likely involves third degree frostbite. In the street outside the alley, early-morning New York is already a flurry of random noise. You can smell hot dogs sizzling nearby, and there’s a guy peddling today’s Daily Bugle. That’d probably be you if hiring a genefreak wasn’t sorta like shooting yourself in the foot.

But for the most part, I like a lot of what Nicieza did in the series from what I've seen. Unfortunately, certain trades are harder to track than others. But I may go back to through in his contributions just to be sure. Thanks for the reminder! Blog's back, I guess. So why not show off with an overview of a comic book team I am and remain to be a huge fan of: the Thunderbolts! In the mid to late 90s, Marvel was in a bad place. There are hundreds of videos and blogs that discuss this Like Lightning further Like Lightning and why but long story short, the company was going bankrupt and creatively they were in a really bad place. But debuting in the Avengers' place on Earth were a team called the Thunderbolts. This team has Like Lightning quite a run in the comics world, with different creative teams and different ideas to explore the team.

  • The Paws That Refresh Us
ANTHONY LINICK LIFE AMONG THE DOG PEOPLE OF PADDINGTON REC. VOL XI The Paws That Refresh Us Life Among The Dog People of Paddington Rec. Volume XI Anthony Linick Introduction The same day that we returned after two months in California – having decided that we would not be moving back to the States at the beginning of our retirement – my wife Dorothy and I took our property off the market … and ordered a puppy. Fritz the Schnauzer arrived a few weeks later and by the end of June, 2003, we had entered that unique society of dog owners who people London’s Paddington Recreation Ground. The society in which we were now to take our place remains a unique one, an ever-changing kaleidoscope of dogs and their owners. The dogs represent most of the popular breeds and many of the mutt-like mixtures – and so do their accompanying humans, who come from diverse nationalities and from many walks of life: professionals and job seekers, young and old, family members and loners. They are united by their love of dogs, and on the central green of the park, on its walkways and at the café where they gather after exercising their animals, they often let this affection for dogs carry them into friendships that transcend park life and involve many of them in additional social activities. Fritz had been a member of the pack for about a year when I decided to keep a daily record of his antics and the folkways of the rest of the crew, human and canine.
