The 1st Cabinet meeting of the year “Lead to Change” was called to order at 1205hr. by Khalid Jamil, District Governor 2011-12 on timely arrival of the Chief Guest PID Naresh Agarwal, Constitutional area 6 & Area Leader GLT 2011-12. The honor of recitation of the verses from Holy Quraan was gracefully accepted by Qari Mushtaq Ali Syed. Shafi Ullah Khan Treasurer International 2011-12 led the house for National Anthem & Oath of Allegiance respectively. National anthem of India was played first and after that National anthem of Pakistan was played. Qari Mushtaq Ali Syed beautifully conducted prayer for Good Health & Prosperity of Lion Leaders, Lions community in Pakistan along with their families, friends & relatives. Regrets received in writing, telephonically & through email were announced and accepted. (Annexure – B). It was conveyed to the cabinet members that any verbal communication regarding regrets in meeting if any, will not be acceptable during this year of “Lead to Change”. All cabinet members signed their roll call with the help of Mr. Khalid Mehmood, (District Office Executive) during the meeting (Annexure – A). The members of newly installed cabinet for the year “Lead to Change” introduced themselves individually in order as requested by Cabinet Secretary, Name, Club name and District Portfolio to save time. Page 1 of 9 Welcome Address & presentation of Lapel pins: District Governor, Khalid Jamil warmly welcomed the Chief Guest PID Naresh Agarwal, all PMCCs, PDGs, Area Associates, Region, Zone, District Chairpersons and guests from other Districts of the multiple. He recognized IPDG, Muhammad Azam Ch., VDG-1 Muhammad Azhar Ch. and VDG-2, Saqib Rahim Sheikh for their support and coordination. He specially recognized two female cabinet members and wished to see others from Faisalabad could be the part of the meeting. He appreciated the 15th Installation Chairperson, Shafi Ullah Khan and his team for providing him an ideal take off to reach the destination of “Lead to Change”. PID Lion Naresh Agarwal presented a set of three lapel pins, two of District Governor and one of the Multiple Council Chairperson for the year 2011-12 to each cabinet members on the request of the District Governor Khalid Jamil. Approvals for the year 2010-11: Minutes of 4th cabinet meeting for the year 2010-11 held on April 22, 2011 at Hotel Pearl Continental, Bhurban were presented and house approved. House granted another approval, it was for the Accounts presented by the District Administration of 2010-11 lead by IPDG Muhammad Azam Ch. Opening Remarks & Presentation of Program by the D.G 2011-12: . Khalid Jamil highlighted various components of his program for the year “Lead to Change” categorically. He spotted light on the performance of all cabinet members specially Zone & Region Chairpersons under the leadership of their respective Area Associates. Discussing the role of District Chairpersons, he explained that the objective of appointing 3 D.Cs from each area of the District is to enhance service activities in the District with a view to have comparison staying in healthy competition. It was advised to all cabinet members to avoid paper work & lip service and do service projects in their respective areas. He presented himself at their disposal and asked to involve local leadership along with Zone/Region & Area Associates on the project activity. Khalid Jamil said words of thanks to the two lady District Chairpersons present in the meeting and requested for help to work for women empowerment. He expressed his conviction for genuine growth & extension in the District. He said all commitments made by the Club, Zone & Region Leaders will be observed with regular feedback till deadline. The clubs less than 10 members has to raise their membership step by step keeping in mind to get status of minimum 10 members at first. He warned that any club with below 10 members will be cancelled after the deadline. He told the house that he has committed with the Lions Clubs International during Seattle Convention to add 10 New Clubs and 200 members during this year. He also requested the house for 8 new MJF / Progressive MJF during his year. Commitment of 7 MJF / Progressive MJF received (Annexure – C). He also informed the house keeping in view of International President Dr.Wing – Kun Tam programme, promised plantation of 100,000 trees in the District. He also emphasized on primary & basic education for our children because the nations destiny lies with our younger generation. Page 2 of 9 Report by District Cabinet Treasurer Rana Maqbool Ahmad: . Cabinet Treasurer got approval from the house on a resolution presented, to open and operate a Bank Account in the name of “The International Association of Lions Clubs District 305-N1, with “Soneri Bank Ltd. DHA branch Code 0011, Lahore; Account # 02011921220” for the year 2011-12. The house granted approval of Estimated Budget 2011-12 presented by the Cabinet Treasure. He also presented update status of District Dues and referred to the format attached in the meeting folder regarding District Health Report. Report by International Treasurer, Shafi Ullah Khan: . Cabinet Treasurer International referred to the format comprehensively designed for update information regarding District Health Report attached in the folder Club/Zone/Region & Area wise Membership, District & International Dues with outstanding balances as on June 30th 2011 as per record provided by LCI. It was highlighted that 18 clubs has cleared their dues for the year 2011-12 and were recognized in the 15th Installation ceremony held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 by PID Naresh Agarwal, the chief guest. The procedure for depositing International dues was elaborated with complete information regarding bank, Title of Account & Account number i.e. The International Association of Lions Clubs Account # 01-7483481-49 with Standard Chartered Pakistan Ltd., Metropole Branch Karachi. It was also advised to write clearly club name & identification number of the Club on the bank deposit slip and on the back of the cheque if presented for clearance. Note: PID Naresh Agarwal guided how to adopt the appropriate procedure to ask & get approval to any resolution. The house adopted and implemented the procedure for the approval of the resolutions. Address by Tahir Majid Kapur; Council Chairperson 2011-12: The Chairperson for Council of Governors of MD-305 Pakistan started his address with a note of regrets due to late joining the meeting. He congratulated the newly installed cabinet for the year 2011-12. He was very prominent while appreciating the leadership qualities in our leader of the year, Khalid Jamil specially the boldness, vigilance & truth fullness. He expressed his confidence with complete satisfaction and foresee that the year “Lead to Change” would lead to a positive change in the District 305 N1 Pakistan under the dynamic leadership of Khalid Jamil. He also congratulated the Chairperson, Shafi Ullah Khan and his team of 15th Installation ceremony for organizing one of the best events, he has seen. He also thanked for the untiring support for organizing 1st MD Council Meeting in the same venue. During the speech, he emphasized on the theme of Self Reliance as demonstrated by the people of his native city Sialkot. He was convinced that following the path of self reliance we the people of Pakistan can resolve all our problems. While concluding his speech, he whole heartedly thanked the Chief Guest, PID Naresh Agarwal for his visit to Lahore and solid input for the Lions of District 305 N1 Pakistan. Page 3 of 9 Address by the Chief Guest, PID Area 6 & GLT Area Leader 2011-12; PID Naresh Agarwal: It was not a speech but more as an Interactive Training Session for that PID Naresh Agarwal is known. He focused on the key areas to develop Lionism to meet the need of the day. Specifically, he talked about SWOT, E-Learning, Club Assessment, Club Health Program, Community Need Assessment, Certified Guiding Lion and in details about GLT. He handed over publications to leader of the year for communication to concerned District Cabinet members and guided the house to seek help from LCI website in this regard. He did involve the house and the Leadership as well to get the answer of his various questions. He highlighted the newly emerged program for Leadership/Membership Growth & Extension called as GMT/GLT and ask the house if they have information about their respective District & Multiple Coordinators? For recognizing he requested to all the four Distirct/MD Coordinators for GLT & GMT to rise on their seats. Lion Dr. Ahmad Shafi GLT M.D Coordinator 2011-14 PDG Lion M. Afzal Sipra GLT District Coordinator 305 N-1, 2011-14 Lion Aftab Ahmed Jadraan GMT District Coordinator 305 N-1, 2011-14 He asked for fresh commitment by the cabinet members from all tiers present in the meeting and offered his services when required for the cause of Lionism. He specially thanked the hospitality, love, care and respect extended by the Lions of Pakistan & District 305 N-1. The house adopted a resolution by granting the approval of Faisalabad as place for the next Cabinet meeting in the month of November, 2011. It was agreed that the final date will be decided as per recommendations of the Faisalabad Area Leadership. As PCC Humayun N.
