BRIEF DESCRIPTION – QUARRY PROJECT OF M/s H&P GRANITES

The building Stone Quarry (Minor Mineral) mining project of M/s H & P Granites is situated at Re-Survey Nos. 462/01, 462/01-2, 462/02, 465/01, 465/04, 465/04-2, 465/05, 481/01-2, 481/01-1, 482/02, 482/02-2, 482/02-3, 482/04, 482/05, 482/06, 483/03, 483/04 (Patta Land), 464, 465/03, 465/08, 482/01, 482/03 (Govt. Land), Block No. 50, Village, Taluk, District, in area of 9.0681 hectares. The project proponent possess Letter of Intent (LOI) for the proposed project issued by Mining & Geology Department, Kerala. Mining projects of minor minerals with area less than 50 ha. of mining lease are categorized as category 'B'. As per O.M. dated 24/12/2013 by Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of , all projects with mining area less than 25 hectares is classified as Category B2. The Eco-friendly Mining Plan prepared by an Indian Bureau of Mine (IBM) approved Recognized Qualified Person (RQP) has been approved by Mining & Geology Department, Govt. of Kerala. This Mining plan is based on the requirements under the Kerala Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2015. The part of the proposed quarry project is already obtained Environmental Clearance from SEIAA, Kerala vide Order No. 1087/EC3/SEIAA/2016 & E.C. No. 93/2017 dt. 29/11/2017 from SEIAA, Kerala for production of 2,50,000 MTA. The land for the quarry project is a private owned land and Govt. land with NOC from District Collector for mining activities and the land is possessed in the name of M/s H & P Granites. The targeted production of mine will be 4,50,910 MTA. The estimated project cost will be about Rs. 6.0 Crores. The expected life of mine estimated will be about 22 years. The mining operation will be carried out by opencast semi-mechanized method as per the approved Mining Plan.
