Under 12 MUSB12 Under 12 MUSA12 12 & Over MUSB99 12 & Over MUSA99 UNDER 15 EDWARD CALLAGHAN MUSIC CHAMPIONSHIP (Sponsored by NAFC) EDWARD CALLAGHAN MUSIC CHAMPIONSHIP – $40.00 See awards and requirements listed below Under 15 ECMS15 COMPETITOR ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE NORTH AMERICAN FEIS COMMISSION MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS 1) Age will be determined as of January 1. 2) ELIGIBILITY: a) Musicians under the age of 15 who can play traditional Irish music are eligible to compete b) Musicians who have received compensation to play at a feis are not eligible c) Competitors who have previously won a first-place music scholarship ON TWO OCCASIONS are ineligible to compete in the same age category 3) Competitor must supply their own instrument and metronome and be capable of playing the melody of tunes specified in the syllabus to the proper metronomic speeds. Competitors must choose to play an instrument from the following list: Button or Piano Accordion, Concertina, Melodian, Piano or Keyboard, Violin, Flute, Tin Whistle, Banjo, Uilleann pipes, or Harp. 4) Competitor must report to the assigned stage, ready to compete, when the scholarship competition is announced. Under no circumstance will the competition be delayed because a competitor is not present. North American Feis Committee Rules (effective January 1 2016) 1. In the case of all solo and team competitions in all grades, the age of a competitor on 1st January of the year in which the competition is held will determine the right of entry. For the purposes of this Rule a competitor whose birthday occurs on 1st January shall be deemed to be under the age attained on that date. 2. Competitions are open to all but those holding a TMRF, TCRG, or ADCRG designation.
