Richard won the 2012 Leonard Falcone Euphonium Artist Solo Competition and is a Willson Sponsored Artist. He was a finalist in the National Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and the International Tuba Euphonium Conference Euphonium Artist Division. He graduated from the University of North Texas with his DMA under Dr. Brian Bowman and has studied with Dr. Joseph Skillen, Don Palmire, and others. He performed a solo recital at the Kennedy Center as well as with wind bands across the United States and Europe.
