This document collects specifications that outline the structure of the EGVillage at each municipality level. These additional specifications will guide the Municipality issuing the competition of ideas in order to recognize the best concepts and concerns about desired EGVillage based on MILD HOMEs. The general overview of possible EGVillages and the 8 models developed by each municipality will be gathered in a unique working document called "Eco Green Village Models, structure and organization in SEE regions" that will provide deep and innovative information about EGVillages. It will be a precursor of the final document "How to build an Eco Green Village based on MILD HOMEs" (act. 7.1). This document will be refined and upgraded during the progress of the project and will be fundamental for the final stages of the project, when it will be enriched with the results of pilot project designs and realizations. • WP3 act 3.5 Development of the EGVillage structure on the basis of an operative model by MILD HOME NoE 4 The Context of the EGVillage in the Municipality of Savski venac Introduction The planned location for the Eco Green Village (EGV) in Savski venac is an area situated at the southern edge of the municipality, bordering the city Municipality of Voždovac (Figure 1). The site is adjacent to Borska Street, close to the intersection with Crnotravska Street, as shown in Figure 2. Figure 1: Site location in Municipality of Savski venac • WP3 act 3.5 Development of the EGVillage structure on the basis of an operative model by MILD HOME NoE 5 Figure 2: Site location in Borska Street • WP3 act 3.5 Development of the EGVillage structure on the basis of an operative model by MILD HOME NoE 6 The territory The city Municipality Savski venac, where the EGV site is located, is one of the three central municipalities of Belgrade that stretches along the right bank of the Sava River. Its territory is consists of three characteristic zones: (1) city center area at the core of Belgrade (part of the core) with compact city structure – mixed use in traditional urban block; (2) residential area of good to excellent standard, with family houses and urban villas; (3) traffic and transportation district (includes the main railway station in Belgrade – construction is still in progress, a highway, old railway corridors in wide area along the Sava River, existing Central railway station.) The highway and the new railway central station divide the central part (1) of the territory of Municipality from the residential part (2). The EGV site is close to a number of public facilities and "social nodes" – a school, town square, community center etc. North from the location is the hospital complex named “Military Medical Academy” (700m). The center for sports “Banjica,” with sports courts and swimming pools, is also nearby (500m), and across Borska Street is the residential neighborhood “Banjica”, where the following facilities and services are situated: market place (200m), school (300m), kindergarten and shopping center. Direct distance (by air) of the site to the city center is 6.5 km. Location proposed for the architectural competition is located in the zone of large green areas. Urban development It is important to note that the city of Municipality of Savski venac, being in the central zone of the Serbian capital, is one of the most built‐up areas of the city. Consequently, suitable land lots for development of larger residential settlements, such as an Eco Green Village, are few. For this reason, the Project team in Savski venac initially intended to develop an EGV model for two infill locations on its territory. However, considering that the EGV model for such locations would be significantly different from the rest of the models, as well as the difficulties regarding planning regulations and current land ownership in the two initially chosen sites, the Municipality decided to switch to a previously undeveloped land lot instead. The chosen location in Borska Street has one owner only – the Ministry of Defense, and it is designated for residential use. • WP3 act 3.5 Development of the EGVillage structure on the basis of an operative model by MILD HOME NoE 7 The area where the EGV site is located is currently covered by the General Urban Plan of Belgrade (GUP 2021). The site is not covered by other, more detailed urban plans, although a Plan of General Regulation (PGR) that covers the site area is under development. The site in Borska Street is public land, a brownfield territory formally part of a military complex. It is situated in a residential area with family houses and urban villas (2). The above mentioned Plan of General Regulation defines this area as a future housing complex. A model of MILD Home and EGV that would be developed for this type of site would be applicable to a large number of residential areas in the Municipality of Savski venac, and could be applicable in other Belgrade municipalities as well as in other cities in Serbia. Transport network and viability The territory of Savski venac is fully integrated in the traffic network and service system of the City of Belgrade, according to the dominant use in particular parts of the Municipality. The street pattern of Savski venac territory includes streets of different range – from busy city boulevards to peaceful lanes in housing districts. A highway that connects northern and southern parts of the country passes through Savski venac Municipality, dividing it into two major parts ((1) and (2) as explained in section Territory). Also, the entire territory of Savski venac is covered by the network of public transportation. Generally, most problems about public transportation in Belgrade (~1,5 million inhabitants) result from the fact that Belgrade has no mass transportation system (such as a subway). The old traffic corridors in the city center cannot support the present traffic needs, and the system of public transport which consists of busses, trams and trolleys barely services the large city territory. The Municipality of Savski venac, however, is situated in the central part of Belgrade, and it suffers from this problem less than other city municipalities. Proposed area for MILD Home and EGV development is served by the system of public transportation which passes through busy Crnotravska and Borska streets. The edge of area is Borska Street, busy street with a number of public transportation lines. Part of Borska Street is the part of the external traffic tangent of Belgrade, which will provides easy access to the selected location. Economic framework and future trends Belgrade is the financial centre of Serbia and Southeast Europe with total 17.000.000 m² office space, and is home to the country's central bank. Currently, over 600,000 people are employed in 120.286 companies, 22,600 enterprises and 50,000 shops. With 6,924 companies in the sector (2013 data), Belgrade is one of information technology centers in this part of

The watershed moment followed the demolitions of 25 April 2016, when citizens showed up in great numbers to protest, demanding resignations and laying criminal responsibility at the door of officials. We led the biggest civic protests since those that toppled Slobodan Milošević in 2000. Movement transformed into political organization which participated in the local elections. Key achievement is positioning of the topics of urban development and citizen participation in decision making process as one of most important issues in public sphere in Belgrade. Abstract Detailed distribution pattern of colubrid snakes in Serbia is still inadequately described, despite the long historical study. In this paper, we provide accurate distribution of seven species, with previously published and newly accumulated faunistic records compiled. Comparative analysis of faunas among all Balkan countries showed that Serbian colubrid fauna is among the most distinct (together with faunas of Slovenia and Romania), due to small number of species. Zoogeographic analysis showed high chorotype diversity of Serbian colubrids: seven species belong to six chorotypes. South-eastern Serbia (Pčinja River valley) is characterized by the presence of all colubrid species inhabiting our country, and deserves the highest conservation status at the national level.

Belgrade Rocks - New York Times http://travel.nytimes.com/2005/10/16/travel/16belgrade.html?ei=5070... October 16, 2005 Belgrade Rocks By SETH SHERWOOD Correction Appended NIGHT falls in the capital of the former Yugoslavia, and music fills the air. Everywhere. Along the banks of the Danube and Sava Rivers, serpentine chains of music-blasting splavovi - floating raft clubs - snake into the inky Balkan night. Fortified by huge meat-kebab dinners and Turkish coffees from Belgrade's myriad cafes, crowds of night owls line up to partake variously of Gypsy bands, electronic mixes, rock 'n' roll and a distinctly Serbian hybrid known as Turbofolk. As a parade of Puma-clad feet files down the metal gangway to a club called Exile, the night's marquee D.J., the New York City-based techno producer John Selway, prepares for his 2-to-6 a.m. set. "The most fun places to play are here, South America and Japan!" he shouts over rapid-fire industrial beats, praising the energy of the night life in the capital of Serbia and Montenegro, the name for what is left of Yugoslavia after its unraveling in the early 90's. "They're interested in new music and in building a scene!" Across the water, the lighted dome of St. Sava Church and illuminated stone walls of the centuries-old Kalemegdan Fortress hover over the capital's skyline. Just six years ago, during 78 days of NATO bombings intended to quell President Slobodan Milosevic's attacks on ethnic Albanians in the nation's Kosovo province, that same panorama exploded routinely in flame and debris.

  • Geographical Index of Concentration As an Indicator of the Spatial Distribution of Tourist Attractions in Belgrade
TURIZAM Volume 25, Issue 1 45–54 (2021) ORIGINAL SCIENTIFIC PAPER Geographical Index of Concentration as an Indicator of the Spatial Distribution of Tourist Attractions in Belgrade Sanja PavlovićA, Radmila JovanovićB Received: July 2020 | Accepted: March 2021 DOI: 10.5937/turizam25-27553 Abstract The spatial structure of tourist attractions can be presented both qualitatively and quanti- tatively. One of the indicators of the spatial structure of tourism is the index of geographi- cal concentration of tourist attractions. The geographical concentration of tourist attractions represents the ratio of the number of tourist attractions in the observed area and its struc- tural parts and the total number of structural units of the analyzed area. This paper aims to determine the spatial distribution of attractions in the administrative territories of Belgrade municipalities and to establish correlations with tourist attendance. The number and spatial distribution of accommodation capacities are the largest in the central city municipalities so that the number of visitors is the largest in them. At the same time, the central city municipal- ities have the highest concentration of tourist attractions. For data collection, the authors used field research, OSM (Open Street Maps), Google maps, with software processing ArcGIS 10.2. The research results enabled the definition of the model of distribution of tourist attractions and indicated its application. This model of distribution of tourist attractions shows that they are mostly concentrated in the city center. This also means a small spatial connection of tour- ist attractions in the city center and peripheral parts. Keywords: tourist attractions, spatial distribution, geographical index, Belgrade Introduction The competition of tourist values in an area, among other things, relies on the structure of the tourist resource.
