Please indicate when the After-Action Review (AAR) was conducted and who participated. N/A AAR was not conducted for this allocation due to the global pandemic which re-organized priorities. Humanitarian partners attention was diverted to mitigation and response to the pandemic. However, response and requirements for the secondary displaced population is continually addressed at the various coordination meetings. b. Please confirm that the Resident Coordinator and/or Humanitarian Coordinator (RC/HC) Report on the Yes No use of CERF funds was discussed in the Humanitarian and/or UN Country Team. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and many other pressing priorities in Ethiopia that related with the security situation as well as the need to limit the number of agenda items for discussion given the modality of the meetings (virtual) the report was not discussed at the HCT. c. Was the final version of the RC/HC Report shared for review with in-country stakeholders (i.e. the CERF recipient agencies and their implementing partners, cluster/sector coordinators and members and Yes No relevant government counterparts)? The report was reviewed and shared with the applicant agencies. 2 PART I Strategic Statement by the Resident/Humanitarian Coordinator In the year 2018, Ethiopia experienced the highest number of conflict-related internal displacement in the world. Following the Government decision for the displaced population to return to places of origin in May 2019, some 1.2 million returnees remained secondarily displaced closer to their homes. -

Detainees Are Matching International Standards
Henok Birhanu /ICRC ICRC President, Peter Maurer, accorded warm welcome up on his arrival at Jigjiga airport as part of his visit to Ethiopia. The ICRC is present in Ethiopia since the beginning of the 1977 Ethio-Somalia armed conflict. Its current main activities in the country are: addressing the humanitarian needs of the people affected by conflict and violence through an integrated multi-disciplinary response, and reinforced protection dialogue with weapon bearers, visiting places of detention so as to ensure both the treatment and conditions of detainees are matching international standards. Helping people with physical disabilities (PWDs) get access to quality and sustainable physical rehabilitation services. It also works closely with the Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) to restore family links among people separated by armed conflict and other situations of violence and provides assistance mainly to people displaced by ethnic conflict. The ICRC also promotes the knowledge of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) among members of defense and police forces as well as higher learning institutions, legal professionals and policy makers. INTERNAL DISPLACEMENT MONITORING REPORT October - December 2015 Executive Summary 1 TIGRAY The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Special Liaison Office (SLO) in AFAR Addis Ababa, with funding from the European Commission for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (ECHO), works with the Government of Ethiopia and humanitarian AMHARA partners to conduct internal displacement monitoring in multiple regions in Ethiopia. 65,766 The objective is to bring about timely and accurate data, on the causes, number of BENISHANGUL 7,945 GUMZ individuals displaced, locations of displacement as well needs verses response, in order DIRE DAWA ADDIS ABABA to improve humanitarian response and to advocate for durable solutions.
