Paragraph 20 has been amended to update the title and refer users to Par. 317.5 for map printing in the CARS Application. Subparagraph 25 A has been amended to provide that both conditions must apply when approving double cropping. Subparagraph 314 K has been withdrawn because the instructions are not needed. Subparagraph 317 B has been amended to provide a reference map printing (paragraph 317.5). Paragraph 317.5 has been added to provide information on map printing in the CARS Application. Subparagraph 321: A has been amended to update program spot check programs/activities B has been amended to update the timeline for completing spot checks and loading results, and to update the hyperlink. Subparagraph 322 E has been amended to update available resources. Subparagraph 323 A has been amended to require documentation of person who made refusal, if known. Subparagraph 349.5 B has been amended to provide additional ARCPLC compliance review questions. Subparagraph 352 D has been amended to update the paragraph reference. 10-3-16 Page 1 Amendment Transmittal A Reasons for Amendment Subparagraph 354.5 B has been amended to provide updated MPP compliance review questions. The following paragraphs have been withdrawn because compliance reviews are no longer required for the program areas: paragraph 351 paragraph 357 paragraph 357.5 paragraph 357.9 paragraph 357.10 paragraph 357.13 Subparagraph 360 A has been amended to clarify that County Offices must complete spot checks and record results by the Survey End Date. Zhigang Liu September 2006 i ABSTRACT Exceptional animal performance and non-bloating characteristics make sainfoin a potentially valuable forage crop. Research information in the UK is very limited and the crop is in severe decline. The requirement to produce home grown protein and EU policy on fertiliser reduction has created a climate for legume developments. Yields of up to 15 t DM ha-1 in recent studies have illustrated that sainfoin has good potential and presented the case for developing a modern agronomy for the crop. Effects of sowing depth and seed pod on emergence were examined under greenhouse conditions. Sainfoin can be sown at 1-4 cm depths as either hulled or dehulled seed without significant differences.
