California is a state located on the West Coast of the United States. It is the most populous U.S. state, home to one out of eight people who live in the U.S., with a total of 38 million people, and it is the third largest state by area (after Alaska and Texas). California is bordered by Oregon to the north, Nevada to the east, Arizona to the southeast, and the Mexican State of Baja California to the south.

California's diverse geography ranges from the Pacific Coast in the west, to the Sierra Nevada in the east – from the Redwood–Douglas-fir forests of the northwest, to the Mojave Desert areas in the southeast. The center of the state is dominated by the Central Valley, a major agricultural area. California contains both the highest and lowest points in the contiguous United States (Mount Whitney and Death Valley), and has the 3rd longest coastline of all states (after Alaska and Florida).

Claremont is located on the Western edge of an area referred to as the . The Inland Empire (I.E.) is a metropolitan area and region of . It is situated directly east of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The term "Inland Empire" is most commonly used in reference to the U.S. Census Bureau federally defined Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario metropolitan area, which covers more than 27,000 square miles (70,000 km2). The metropolitan area consists of Riverside County and San Bernardino County.

Register Vehicle

It is important to register your vehicle within 20 days of establishing residency in California. If you do not register your operational vehicle with 20 days you could face penalties.

To register your out-of-state vehicle in California you need to have the following:

o Valid out-of-state certificate of title (required for change of ownership). o Out-of-state registration certificate (usually not required if the title is available). o Vehicle verification by an authorized DMV employee, member of law enforcement or a licensed vehicle verifier. The easiest way is to bring your vehicle to your local DMV for verification of the vehicle's identification number (VIN). o Commercial vehicles, including pickups, may require a weight certificate.* o California smog certificate. o Payment for registration fees. Auto Insurance

California car insurance requirements are similar to most other states but it’s important to know them before you register your vehicle. In order to drive in California your vehicle must meet minimum required coverage. Bring an extra copy of your proof of insurance when you visit the California DMV as they may keep a copy.

Smog Check

New residents of California are required to smog check their vehicles. Some areas require a recheck every 2 years while other vehicles are exempt.

Driver’s License

Because you only have 10 days to apply for a license or an ID, your best bet is to make an appointment with one of the California DMV offices. The rules for getting a license are different for those 18 and over and those under 18.

To apply for your new license, there are a few things you will need:

o Social Security number. o Your valid out-of-state driver's license. o Proof of your true full name. o Proof of your birth date and legal presence. o Driver License or Identification Card application (Form DL-44). This form cannot be downloaded as original signatures and a barcode are needed to meet legal requirements. You may request a DL-44 by calling (800) 777-0133, or pick one up in person from any DMV office. o Payment to cover the $33 license fee. CA DMV Offices accept cash, checks, money orders and ATM/debit cards.

Claremont

Claremont is a college town on the eastern border of Los Angeles County, California, United States, 32.5 miles (52.3 km) east of downtown Los Angeles. Claremont is located at the foothills of the and Claremont are located here. The population, as of the 2010 census, is 34,926. The area that is now La Verne was for centuries the home of Native Americans and many "Indian" artifacts have since been discovered by archeologists. A collection of such artifacts discovered locally were displayed in City Hall at one time. La Verne is a "close knit" community that is home to many fine institutions and facilities among which include the (founded in 1891), Brackett Airport and fine public and private schools. The city is known for hosting the annual football game and Tournament of Roses Parade. Rancho Cucamonga

Suburban city in San Bernardino County, California. As of 2014, Rancho Cucamonga's population was 165,775 people. While most of the city's land area is devoted to residential areas, Rancho Cucamonga, like its neighbors Ontario and Fontana, is a major center for the Logistics industry in Southern California. This is due to its proximity to two Interstate Highways and Ontario International Airport, and the space afforded by the large tracts of former agricultural land in the southern section of the city. In the area around Milliken Avenue, between Archibald and Etiwanda Avenues, Foothill Boulevard, and Fourth Street, about seven square miles of land are primarily occupied by numerous massive distribution centers, and even more, smaller manufacturing companies. This area is ringed by wealthy office parks, mostly along Haven Avenue, and shopping strips, such as the Terra Vista Town Center (part of a nearly two-square- mile master-planned community in the center of the city), and malls, such as Victoria Gardens (shopping center), and the Ontario Mills, across Fourth Street in Ontario. The City of Upland was incorporated in San Bernardino County on May 15, 1906, and is nestled at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. During the 20th century, Upland has developed into a residential and retail community that has maintained its country and urban ambiance. Upland has also retained its charm of the past. Historic Downtown Upland is quiet, leisurely place to shop in antique stores, custom shops, and visit fine restaurants.
