ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS T&F Contact: Devon Lucal • Email: [email protected] • C: 513-720-8488 • O: 509-720-0268 2021 INDOOR SCHEDULE 2021 INDOOR TRACK & FIELD MEET NOTES JANUARY 1/29 UW Indoor Preview (Seattle) HUSKY CLASSIC 1/30 UW Indoor Preview (Seattle) Friday-Saturday, February 26-27 FEBRUARY Seattle, Wash. 2/5 Arkansas Qualifier (Fayetteville) Dempsey Indoor 2/12 UW Invitational (Seattle) 2/13 UW Invitational (Seattle) LAST TIME OUT (Matador Qualifier) The Washington State University Track and Field program saw incredible success from the squad 2/19 Matador Qualifier (Lubbock) sent down south, led by Charisma Taylor. 2/25 Husky Classic (Seattle) Taylor anchored the Cougs during the meet, posting the best qualifying time in the 60-meter hurdles 2/26 Husky Classic (Seattle) at 8.27. Charisma then followed that up with a personal best, WSU all-time record, and Matador Qual- 2/27 Husky Classic (Seattle) ifier record time of 8.16 in the event as well. The previous best in the event in WSU women’s history was also by Taylor at 8.19. Charisma then finished up her day in the triple jump, posting yet another MARCH meet record with a mark of 44-feet 1 1/2 inches (13.45m), and winning the event in the process as well. 3/11 NCAA Indoor Championships (Fayetteville) The Washington men’s competitors did not disappoint either in Texas, beginning with the 60-meter hurdles where Sam Brixey notched yet another win in the event this indoor season with a time of 7.81 3/12 NCAA Indoor Championships (Fayetteville) overall. Just behind Brixey was Nick Johnson in second place with a time of 7.99 as well. The men’s squad was capped off on the day by Mitch Jacobson in the high jump, where he would finish second 3/13 NCAA Indoor Championships overall, recording a season-best mark of 6-feet 11 1/2 inches (2.12m). (Fayetteville) COUGARS RANKED NATIONALLY QUICK FACTS The Washington State men’s squad is currently ranked No. 37 overall in the nation in the latest Founded/Location: 1890/Pullman, Wash. USTFCCCA National Poll, and are second in the West Regional rankings, only behind number one Enrollment: 20,286 (Pullman only) nationally ranked Oregon.
