We are now in the process of developing a plan to upgrade the existing property. As soon as a proposed plan has been prepared it will be shared with all members to be agreed upon or changed to suit the majority, before any work is undertaken. You may or may not be aware that the old green “Tennis Club” shed at the end of the car park is used to house a lot of second hand A7 parts. This shed is in very poor condition & needs to be demolished soon before it falls down. Whilst a decision on its long term replacement has not yet been decided, a temporary solution has been found, thanks to the generosity of Leigh & Marilyn Thomas. They donated quite a large garden shed which has recently been erected & will be used to re-house the second hand parts for the short term, enabling the old shed to be demolished. Ron Burchett, with the help of a few other members, is in the process of cataloging all of the clubs library books so it will be easier for us all to know what books are available. A new public address system has recently been purchased. It is a portable system which will be used for meetings in the clubrooms & for outside gatherings such as the National A7 Rally to be held in the Barossa Valley next year. The Modern Regularity events have gained momentum this year. There have been more entrants at most of this year's events than has been in recent years, which is great to see. This is the result of the work that Tony Morgan continues to put into this form of motor sport. Recently he was successful in securing Lakeside Nissan as the major sponsor of these events. We certainly welcome them & thank them for their support. In return, members should consider Lakeside Nissan if planning to purchase a new or used vehicle. There is more on this further on in this edition of Journals. To make payments to the Club easier, our Treasure,r Laurie Sutton, has explored how members could pay their annual subscriptions or make other payments via the Internet Banking System. As a result I am pleased to say that next year's subs will be able to be paid via this method, by adding to the payment details, the membership number that has been assigned to each member (This will be included on the Membership Renewal Form when it is sent out to all members after the AGM in November). The committee appointed a group to review the Club's constitution to ensure it is still relevant. Their recommendations have been submitted to the committee & it is anticipated that proposed changes will prepared in time to be voted on at the AGM on 14 Nov, or soon after at a special general meeting. I would like you to join me in welcoming the following new members & wish them a long & enjoyable time within the club.
