You can catch 2 Broke Girls every Monday on CBS.

Who is someone you personally consider to be an icon?

Guys like Robin Williams. Robin Williams’ 1977 special (The Great Ameri- can Laugh-Off)...the audience doesn’t know what’s happening. You know what—who cares? Robin knew that in 20 years everyone would know him as a genius. He knew he was going to change the way we see comedy. I like people who don’t care about criticism.

Are you a fan of ?

I catch up with it when I can. I haven’t seen it as of late. I certainly watched it growing up. I really like Bill Hader. I am a huge Bill Hader fan. He is ridiculously funny and I understand his brand of comedy. I watched it a lot growing up. From high school up until a few years ago with Had- er—I have probably seen every episode.

Have you ever owned a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers?

I did when I was in high school. I used to wear a pair of the black Chuck Taylor sneakers. I like Converse...but I am more of a Vans guy. I have worn Vans my entire life.

Do you have any thoughts on Muhammad Ali?

I like boxing. I actually took up the sport of boxing about a year ago. I admire boxers very much. That picture of Ali standing over Sonny Liston has to be one of the greatest pictures in all of sports.

Do you use Apple products?

I like the iPhone a lot. They are really user friendly. I am a tech guy and I have a lot of tech stuff—I like that the iPhone is easy to use. I have a Mac Pro too.

Do you listen to any EDM at all?

I don’t. I have plenty of friends that do. I don’t think it’s bad. It’s just not my bag.

Be sure to catch Jonathan Kite live when he performs March-19th-22nd in Omaha and also in Toronto April 9th-11th.

17 back to school

Local Chicago native, performing artist, and entertainer Jonathan Kite plans to shoot his frst ever stand-up comedy special back at his high school alma mater Niles North where it all began. His “Back to School Special” is going to be just that.

In the spring of 1998, Jonathan graduated from Niles North high school. It is often said you can’t go home again but on Saturday, July 9, 2016, for two shows only Jonathan will prove that that’s not always the case. His fond family and childhood memories are still rooted in Skokie, so what better way to properly pay homage to the place that helped shape him then, by performing for them.

After Jonathan graduated high school, he headed to Hollywood with all the tools of the trade he learned at Niles North. Very quickly on, he started to book commercials. Fast forward 20 years, Jonathan is now one of the stars on the hit TV series, 2 Broke Girls on CBS, soon to start its 6th year. This past September, 2 Broke Girls started its run in national and international syndication.

Jonathan has shot more than 30 national network commercials, two of which were Super Bowl spots. Seven years ago Jonathan was literally picked out of obscurity by actor/producer Jamie Foxx to be one of the original cast members of the short-lived sketch show, “In the Flow with Afon Crockett” on FOX television.

The special will be Executive Produced by Jonathan’s production company, Hector P. Valenti, Productions, Inc. Along for this very exciting ride will be his executive producing partner and manager, Jason M. Solomon, who has produced previous comedy specials for Showtime, MTV, , and Channel Four in the UK, bringing 30 years of comedy experience to the table.

John Heinsen and Laird Crawford are also attached to produce the “Back to School Special” through Ian Ryan Interactive.

Niles North High School’s auditorium is an 800 seat venue.

Prior to taping the special, Jonathan will interview a select group of students “documentary style” with the anticipation of adding them in later as interstitial pieces throughout the fnished product. The theme of the interviews will be “what do you want to do when you grow up?”- and will showcase the richness and individual spirit of each student’s dreams and future aspirations upon graduation. Students will be selected by the same drama teacher that started Jonathan’s career.
