HIGHLIGHTS:

1 Over the period of 2012-2013, 418 people (308 adults and 110 students) gave a total of 61,164 hours of volunteer time to the patients and staff of Hôpital Montfort.

2 To remain true to its mission, the Auxiliaries/Volunteers Association launched a detailed review of its activities this year in order to meet the changing needs of patients and staff at Hôpital Montfort ever more effectively.

3 In accordance with the law (extension), the Association submitted a revised version of its constitution and bylaws to its members, along with a name change proposal.

4 This year, the Association hosted the spring conference of the Hospital Auxiliaries Association of Ontario (HAAO), as approximately 120 delegates attended from various associations in Ontario. The outcome from this one-day meeting was extremely positive.

5 Thanks to the generous involvement of Volunteer Service staff, several helpful training courses were offered to members (i.e., training on patients under additional precautions, customer service, food hygiene and handling, and more). Other volunteers were asked to support new projects (such as a study on health in Ontario, a mobilization program and animal therapy).
