David: I’ve sung it before in concert. The words are really appropriate. We all just need someone who’s going to stand by our side. That’s what the world needs, to stand by each other. We all forget sometimes. Hayley: We also had a second dance to Why I Love You by Major. On the morning of our wedding, I was wide awake at 4am and I listened to it and really loved it. I played it to David and we decided to have two! David: After we started dancing, no one stopped but I couldn’t dance for too long as I have bad knees, so I sat down with Hayley’s mum and dad. It was so funny as we looked over at the others and they said: ‘Isn’t it great to be young?’ And I said: ‘Yeah, that was me 30 years ago!’ Hayley: We had a dance-off and I think it was all the bending down during David’s turn that put his knees out!
It was a brilliant moment when you all jumped in the pool in your Baywatch outfits! Hayley: Two days before [the wedding], David suggested jumping in the pool for a Baywatch shot so I told everyone to bring their swimsuits. The boys went out and found red swimming shorts. The Baywatch theme tune started playing and all the boys came out and jumped in the pool. Then David came out in his red shorts and jumped in! I ran and got my bikini on and we all jumped in. We were dancing and singing to Mr Brightside by The Killers. No one wanted to get out of the pool then! David: It was great fun! All the boys wearing red shorts was such a nice gesture – everyone wore red! Hayley’s youngest cousin Ffion thought it was crazy that we all jumped in the pool and I said: ‘This is normal. If this was the ’80s, we would have been in the pool much earlier!’
It didn’t seem like anyone wanted the party to end… David: The buses to take the guests back to their hotels were waiting for 45 minutes! It was really hard getting everyone on the bus, as we were all having a great time.

a mess. If I go by myself no one sees me, but when David’s around I usually have to leave the shop as the paparazzi are there. Although the times I am dressed up they never take photos of me, so you can’t win [laughs].
What are you most looking forward to about married life? David: I’m looking forward to getting a place in the UK and enjoying the British countryside so that Hayley can be close to her family. It’ll be nice to get a house and get some sheep. Or Switzerland or Austria – there’s so much we can do as my work is international.
Where do you mainly live now? David: We’ve lived out of a suitcase mainly for seven years as I’ve done pantos and tours. I just came off a major tour in Germany. when there’s a plane journey just for a day or two. I’m scared of flying, so if it’s a short time away it doesn’t seem worth it. David: Hayley being afraid to fly is one of the problems we have. She’s going to classes to try and get over it!
Hayley, where would you like to settle? I love seeing different places but I do miss Wales as I don’t get to see my family much. I would love to settle in England in the Cotswolds, Devon or Dorset within the next year or so. David: We’re definitely going to get a place in the UK but we don’t know where yet. Right now, we’re building a huge condo in Bali and we have no idea how much time we’ll be spending there, it could be a lot. It will be open for both our families.
You’ve spent a lot of time in LA. Do you like there, Hayley? I like LA from January to March for the sun, but once March comes I want to be in the UK. We make it work. The emotions were real for us from the beginning of our relationship and it was just a question of adjusting to two different lifestyles. More importantly, our

relationship is fun. If you forget that life is fun, it gets you into trouble.
How did the two of you meet? Hayley: David was in the UK filming Britain’s Got Talent and he came into the St David’s Hotel in Cardiff, where me and my sister were having a drink. I went up and asked him for a picture and he asked for my number. David: I saw Hayley and I said to my assistant: ‘There she is, there’s the girl I’ve been dreaming about for a long time.’ I believe in the saying: ‘See it, believe it, live it.’ I always wanted a woman who wasn’t into fame but just into having fun and I imagined this girl was Hayley and when I saw her I thought, well that’s her... but she’s a little young [laughs]!
So, what happened when you asked for her number? David: I was 99 per cent sure she’d say yes, as most people do, but she said no. Then Hayley asked me the question which made me think I might have found the right person. She said: ‘Who did you play on Baywatch?’ She hadn’t grown up watching me. It was nice and refreshing.
What happened next? David: I left and drove 40 minutes towards London and then I asked my driver to turn the car around. I went to her table and asked her to go outside with me. I told her I had feelings for her and I said that if I never saw her again I just wanted to share with WWW.OK.CO.UK 27 her that it was much more she said yes. Megan, how is Wes different from guys you’ve been with in the past? I’m usually very independent; I can’t spend more than a few days with a guy before needing time apart, but I want to be around Wes all the time. I’ve never really rated myself so in the past I’ve gone for men who don’t have much confidence, but Wes is so secure in himself, which I love. A lot of guys in my past have only seemed interested in me because of the way I look – they saw me as a trophy girlfriend – but Wes loves me for me. I’ve never had that before.
Some people were surprised when you said you were shy on the show – why are you shy? Growing up, I never felt totally comfortable in myself. My modelling work is the one thing I’m confident in but that doesn’t mean it transcends to every other aspect of my life. I’m quite an insecure person and despite how I look now, I’m still not very confident.
Wes, what do you think? At first I didn’t understand how someone as beautiful as Megan could be shy, but that’s what ‘A LOT OF GUYS IN MY PAST SAW ME AS A TROPHY GIRLFRIEND BUT WES LOVES ME FOR ME’ intrigued me about her. Megan needed someone to reassure her and make her understand that she has amazing qualities. Making her realise that I love her just the way she is has been one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. Megan: [To Wes] Stop it, you’re going to make me cry! I’m used to having my guard up with guys because I don’t want them to hurt me, but I had no choice but to open up to Wes because we were spending so many hours together.
What was it like going back to each other’s hometowns? Wes: It was nice to meet Megan’s mum for the first time. They’re really close, so it was important to me that we got on. She told me she thinks I have a calming effect on Megan. Megan: I was really nervous before we went to see Wes’s family, especially when I saw all the negative stories that had been reported while I was in the villa. Wes’s mum gave me a big hug and said: ‘Don’t be nervous, you’ll be fine,’ and that made me feel much better.
You said that you were worried they would judge you on your past – is that something you’ve experienced before? People have always used what I do for a living as a reason to treat me badly. They assume they won’t like me and that has made me insecure. Do people tend to have misconceptions about you, Megan? People often assume I’m going to be really up myself because of the way I look, and they stereotype me because of my past – but that’s not who I am at all.
Wes, it was reported that you were ‘stunned’ by some of Megan’s glamour modelling pictures. Is that true? Megan was honest about her past from the very start, so nothing surprised me. I love Megan for who she is, I’d never judge her on her past. Megan: It was always important to me that Wes knew everything before we left the show. I didn’t want him to be in a position where anything could surprise him.
Is it true your dad took time off from work because he was embarrassed by how you acted on the show, Megan? No. If he was embarrassed by me he wouldn’t have come into the villa!
Have you spoken about marriage and children yet? Wes: We’re excited for the future and it’s something we both want, but we’re in no rush to do either of those things. Megan: We’ve not thought about the kind of wedding we want. We’re in no hurry – we’re only young, we’re not ready for marriage and kids.
How did you feel when you saw that old pictures of you had been leaked while you were in the villa, Megan? The pictures were taken while I was still in school, so of course I look different to how I do now! People are very quick to judge when someone has surgery but I don’t regret anything I’ve had done. It’s nobody else’s business what I do with my body.
How much surgery have you had? I’ve had two boob jobs, a nose job, veneers and lip fillers. I had my first boob job when I was 19 but I rushed into it, so I had them redone a few years later to make them look more natural. I don’t think the amount I’ve had done is excessive and I didn’t do it because I was deeply insecure. The only thing I really didn’t like about myself before the surgery was my nose. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with enhancing your looks; it’s no different to getting a spray tan or your hair done. Wes: Megan has had the surgery for the right reasons – she’s done it for her and no one else.
