Marketing Activities Of BMW INTRODUCTION The BMW Group is a manufacturer of luxury automobiles and motorcycles. It has 24 production facilities spread over thirteen countries and the company‟s products are sold in more than 140 countries. BMW Group owns three brands namely BMW, MINI and Rolls- Royce. This project contains detailed information about the marketing and promotional activities of BMW. It contains the history of BMW, its evolution after the world war and its growth as one of the leading automobile brands. This project also contains the information about the growth of BMW as a brand in India and its awards and recognitions that it received in India and how it became the market leader. This project also contains the launch of the mini cooper showroom in India and also the information about the establishment of the first Aston martin showroom in India, both owned by infinity cars. It contains information about infinity cars as a BMW dealership and the success stories of the owners. Apart from this, information about the major events and activities are also mentioned in the project, the 3 series launch which was a major event has also been covered in the project. The two project reports that I had prepared for the company are also a part of this project, The referral program project which is an innovative marketing technique to get more customers is a part of this project and the other project report is about the competitor analysis which contains the marketing and promotional activities of the competitors of BMW like Audi, Mercedes and JLR About BMW BMW (Bavarian Motor Works) is a German automobile, motorcycle and engine manufacturing company founded in 1917. -

BMW Group Classic presents the completely restored roadster of the “King of Rock’n’Roll” for the first time in public at the popular classic car show in California. Munich. The glittering comeback is now following one of the most spectacular classic-car discoveries of recent times. The BMW 507 was driven by US musician Elvis Presley, famous already at that time as the “King of Rock’n’Roll”, while he was doing his military service in Germany. After that it disappeared for nearly 50 years and was believed to have been lost before returning to the limelight. After almost two years of exacting restoration work, BMW Group Classic is presenting the roadster for the first time in a public arena. Restored to its original condition, it will be exhibited on 18 August 2016 at the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach, California. The BMW 507 with chassis number 70079 will be on view for visitors to the popular classic car show exactly as it was when soldier Elvis Presley took delivery of the car on 20 December 1958: with paintwork finished in Feather White, the 150 hp V8 aluminium engine under the bonnet, centre-lock rims, black-and-white interior and a Becker Mexico radio. “The opportunity to bring back the BMW 507 owned by the King of Rock’n’Roll to us here in Munich for purposes of restoration in accordance with the wishes of the previous owner, Jack Castor, was a dream come true for all those involved,” commented Ulrich Knieps, Head of BMW Group Classic. -

It pays to have friends. Some time ago I had the pleasure of driving a BMW Z4 equipped with the latest double-clutch transmission (DCT). Every year several of our BMW Clubs Canada chapters receive a courtesy car for the weekend from BMW Group Canada, via our contact Rob Dexter, to use as pace cars at our joint club race and driving school events. And thanks to Rob, the cars are always new models, won- derfully outfitted, showcasing the latest from BMW. Rob does this as a favor to the club and it is very much appreciated but it also has the desired effect of wowing club members and BMW enthusiasts extraordinaire with the latest goodies from Munich. No question that the low-speed fan rides a few lucky members get to take make them lust after the new stuff from the company. It may be a sales strategy after all, but it’s one we all approve of. Just in case you did not get the connections among pace cars, club races, and driving schools, these loans from BMW Group Canada are for (restricted) use at road racing tracks. And they are some of the best and most challenging and thrilling in the world – LeCircuit, Calabogie and Mosport – the holy trinity of Canadian circuits. -

For those in the southern hemi- sphere we leave behind the heat of summer, and the festive season is a dis- tant memory. Above the equator, memories of cold, wet days may still linger but there is the promise of increased sunshine as days grow longer, and this all means more time to spend riding or driving. Perhaps it is also time to ponder why you are a member of a BMW Club – for two wheels or four, or maybe you are fortunate enough to be able to enjoy both types of vehicle. Nevertheless, when was the last time you sat back and asked yourself why you are a member of a club? Every now and then I like to get back to the funda- mentals. In relation to club membership, the reason for being a member has probably not changed from the basic reasons why clubs were founded in the first place. This might be to enjoy the BMW experience with fellow owners, to share the road or the track, or just share the knowledge that comes from being a BMW owner. And in its simplest form, these are arguably the fundamentals we need to re-focus on from time to time. -
