Ypres WWI Battlefields Tour Monday 27 May 2019 - 08h30 to 22h30

The First World War scared Belgium like no other international conflict. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers were killed on the battlefields and in the trenches. Today you will visit the impressive In Flanders Fields Museum in the morning, and a local expert guide takes you along the main war sites, memorials and cemeteries in the afternoon. We end the day by attending the Last Post service at exactly 20h00, which is held every single day.

Ghent and Bruges are Belgium's 3rd and 6th largest cities. Let's discover these gems together today! We start in Ghent and see the Cathedral, Belfry and the beautiful old houses. After lunch we continue to Bruges. With its many canals and bridges it is often called "the Venice of the North". Our guide will take us through the small streets, the lovely squares and green parks. Naturally we also make a boat tour to see this amazing town from the water.

Belgium's Capital is also Europe's Capital. We therefore start our day by discovering the European district by visiting the Parlamentarium and the House of European History. In the afternoon we go to the city centre and see the Grand Place, the Mont des Arts, and the Manneken Pis statue. We also attend a chocolate making workshop, and of course enjoy a good Belgian beer. Optional visits to various museums depend on the interest of participants.
