Virgin Atlantic Selects Datalex as Technology Partner

Dublin, 16 December 2013: Datalex, the leading provider of retail ecommerce software and solutions to the travel industry, has signed Virgin Atlantic Airways as the latest to use its retail platform to drive the sale of new products and services through its website.

Commenting on the deal, David Bulman, CIO Virgin Atlantic Airways said:

Last Thursday airlines industry association IATA raised its forecast for profits in the industry, and now expects them to rise 10% in 2013 to $12.9bn, increasing to $19.7bn in 2014. IATA also said total passenger numbers will top 3bn for the first time in 2013, growing to 3.3bn in 2014.

The Virgin Atlantic deal caps a busy pre-Christmas period for Datalex, following the company’s recent selection as the World’s Leading Travel Merchandising Solution Provider and World’s Leading Travel Distribution Solution Provider at the World Travel Awards 2013.
