M Listen carefully to the dynamics (volume). Can you describe how it changes between U the verses? P S Friday 8th May is VE Day. This is a celebration of the end of World Way 2 and this I year is especially important because it is 75 years since this happened. N G The BBC have written a song for children to learn called, ‘Take You Home’. I Returning home was the big wish for every person involved in the war. It is a N slower song so is a little harder to sing than some of the others I’ve set so G far but it really is beautiful. Take deep breaths at the beginning of each line to make sure you can get to the end of each phrase. It would be fantastic to hear people singing this on Friday 8th May.

If you watch her V carefully, you will be able to learn some of the signs so you could do them whilst I singing. The two people in blue are performing actions to the song, so you could T learn those too. Y Dame Vera Lynn is a singer who, during the World War 2, would travel out to the troops in other countries and entertain them with her songs. She is still alive today and is 103 years old! Her most famous song was undoubtedly ‘We’ll Meet Again’.

Can you find out any more songs that she used to sing? Have a listen to them. These were the ‘pop songs’ of the 1930s and , whilst the WW2 was happening! It would be wonderful to see some of your performances. If your adults at home can, please post a video of them on Twitter and remember to use @BoltonMusicCent so I can see your fantastic work! See you soon. Mrs Dunphy
